(no subject)
So I was driving my brother in the car today... for those of you who don't know... he's 3 years old. Well he was telling me how he was up at the beach house visiting Gram... so I was asking who else was there (was Suzie there? how about Jenny?) etc... and he goes "Keri, ask 'Was Hubie there?'" It was so unexpected, I immediately choked up... but I went along with it and said "Kaelin, was Hubie there?" and he said in the saddest little voice, "No... he's up in the sky... ::pause:: Keri? What's that place called?" and I said, "Heaven, it's called Heaven" and he asked me how did Hubie get to Heaven, did he fly? I didn't really know what to tell him... so I just said what my Grandma would have told me... and said "Beautiful Angels came down to earth and carried him because Angels have wings." He seemed to like that answer and didn't ask why - so I left it at that. Anyways, I just wanted to share that. Not so much of how I explained it (I come from an Irish Catholic family btw) but just the fact that he mentioned it and the fact that Hubie is gone. It just touched me pretty deeply.
