first game was last weekend. it was pretty much awesome. i realized again just how much i hate off-season, and really love marching band, even camp and uberlong saturday rehearsals before showtime. Getting into block band in uniform for the first time made me smile, and i didn't shake that smile til i went to bed. tailgate parade was fun, surrounded by silly drunks. pregame was pretty damn cool, then screamed my head off first half as the Hens were rather romping over Westchester(their band is still a jerk) Halftime was pretty good, more hollering, then game over (30-7, we kicked ass) Post-game was awesome, for me at least, hit all my dots and such, had a complete blast. then had some flutes over, watched Love Actually, had a good time, then went to bed around 3 am. Woke up and made our guests pancakes (damn i'm so cool)
hung out sunday w/gene, fun times
classes and such, and taking my flute to Music & Arts to get a pad put back on my flute, since it lost a rather vital one just before the end of friday's rehearsal. I have 0 luck. oh well.

karen and i met two lovely grandmas after the game saturday night, and i just wanted to put them in my pocket and take them home to live with me.
They saw us leaving the stadium, and clearly we're band members, as the uniforms, shakos, and flutes kind of stand out.
'oh girls, the band was lovely tonight!'
"well thank you!"
-'we always love the shows the band does.'
"Thank you for staying after the game to watch us perform Postgame."
'Oh we always stay to see the band - no matter how the football team does, the band is always marvelous!'
They're just two vivacious g-mas who live in the area and bought season tickets so that they'd have something fun to do saturday nights. how fantastic are they?!?
