A burglar broke into a house one night. He shone his flashlight around, looking for valuables, and when he picked up a CD player to place in his sack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, "Jesus is watching you."
He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight out, and froze.
When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the light on and began searching for more valuables.
Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, "Jesus is watching you." Freaked out, he shone his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.
"Did you say that?" He hissed at the parrot.
"Yep," the parrot confessed, then squawked, "I'm just trying to warn you"
The burglar relaxed. "Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?"
"Moses," replied the bird.
"Moses?" the burglar laughed. "What kind of people would name a bird Moses?"
"The kind of people that would name a Rottweiler Jesus."
:-D
so last night gene & i had a sort of staying-in date. We ordered food to go from friendly's which i've been missing ever since the one in columbia closed (like a decade ago, but that's fine). then we watched Pride & Prejudice (it was fantastic, it made me so happy!! he is fantastic for getting it for me and then watching it. "Mrs. Darcy" ^_^ ) then we watched National Treasre, which i have secretly wanted to watch since forever, with popcorn. yay! this was followed by an intense two-hour discussion of politics, the universe, and the meaning of life. After agreeing to disagree, fell asleep. Such a great night!
classes are going. i wish they'd go by faster, but I doubt that I can affect this change myself. pity. My spring break isn't for ages(march 25- april2), so anyone who wants to come visit during *their* spring break is more than welcome!
i just had brunch, but i'm currently enjoying my first even long island bagel (cinnamon raisin) brough back by a floormate from her weekend home. yum!
ok, time to get back to the work i'm putting off.
love ya kids!
