Summary: Adventure...time...?
There was an art to entering Jason's room. The hour was irrelevant, she was going to shout as loud as she could and stomp her feet just as hard. Atalanta figured if Jason was going to wake up at the slightest noise anyway it mighty as well be a mighty roar. And she had a surprise: making tonight extra important.
"Hey!" Atalanta laughed into the living room and made her way towards the kitchen. "I heard there was some mighty fine Captain round here. My mistake. Guess I'd better take the beer and mosey on out."
Jason woke with a start, jumping as he heard the shout and his door slam shut. He relaxed when he heard Atalanta's voice. It was fine, she wouldn't do anything worse then empty his kitchen. "There is a fine captain here! And don't you go touching my beer you thief!" He thought about getting up to stop her, but he was too comfortable in the bed.
The second occupant of the bed was not so happy to hear the noise emerging from the kitchen and then from her side. Polyxena sighed and rolled away from Jason, flicking a hand to silence him before she curled up once more and made an attempt at not waking up. She was too comfortable, warm and sleepy to get up.
"I'm sorry Cap. I can't hear you!" Heh. Nice try kids. Having crew is worse than having kids. You're not going back to sleep. Atalanta intentionally made as much noise as possible: banging pots, opening and closing cabinets and generally being a nuisance. She took a pot and a spoon and banged her way towards the bedroom room.
"Wake up. We're goin on an adventure."
"Fuck my life," Jason muttered to himself. He threw an arm over his face, trying to wake up enough to make Atalanta stop being a brat. Though, if that ever worked on any of his crew, Jason may just die of shock.
Polyxena wrinkled her nose and wriggled - turning to Jason again and trying to bury herself into his side to ignore the noise. Of course the sudden arm over his face movement had her jerking away. She protested softly and rubbed her eyes, propping herself up on one elbow to peer at Atalanta.
What adventure? What was going on?
"Oh no, Captain. Life loves you somethin fierce-"
"...And hey there Polyxena." Atalanta frowned for a moment. Admittedly not the worst thing she'd ever caught Jason doing. She'd known since the party that those two had been an item, she just didn't think they were sleeping together yet. She would have been politer. Maybe.
Did Polyxena know what kind of man he was? What she was getting herself into? Atalanta was not much of a planner, but the one she had made was quickly shifting gears.
Jason pushed himself up and tried to glare at Atalanta. He couldn't ever really be mad at any of his crew unless they fucked up beyond belief and her coming in here? Not even close to that. The pot banging, though, was rather painful. "What's up, Ata?"
Considering Jason 'hers' was a bit too much for Polyxena, she was after all not completely oblivious, but there was no denying that their recent conversation had drawn them closer somehow- there certainly was a less ambiguous intimacy in the scene now, in the way one of her legs was still tangled in his, how the buttons of her blouse were open far more than was proper.
Still, she managed a sleepy smile and waved at Polyxena before dropping her head back against the pillow, half-hiding it behind Jason's shoulder to hide her embarrassment at being caught here like this.
"What's up, Captain? Shoot. Didn't Belle tell you? The plan." That she thought up just at this very moment. "I'm stealin your Lady Friend for an adventure."
"He didn't. And where are you guys going?" He raised his eyebrow at Atalanta, curious to know. He didn't really care that Polyxena was being 'kidnapped', he trusted Atalanta to protect Polyxena from anything dangerous wherever they were going.
On the other hand, Polyxena did not seem too thrilled at being kidnapped. Not scared but certainly worried. The words caused her to look up again. "Huh?" That was the lamest sort of answer Polyxena could give but she had no idea what the plan was.
"That would be tellin, Cap. And as you know a lady never does." Atalanta began to bang the pots and pans together again. Luckily her voice was even louder "You've got ten minutes to pack your things, meet me outside, and see my temporary baby. Then the two of us? Shoot. We are gone with the wind."
Atalanta winked at Polyxena. "You don't have to come if you don't want. I'm not one to impose. But I figure a nice woman like you could use an adventure or two."
"You mean... we're going now?" Polyxena yawned again and sat up abruptly, all sleep gone from here. Was this more like 'living'? Closer to what she wanted to do- adventures - was that closer to living? She pushed the thoughts away, yawning. "I like the idea of an adventure, I want to go." Of course she had no idea of what she was getting herself into with Atalanta and all. Only a little inkling.
"Right now. No time like the present, time is on our side, life is a highway." Atalanta was already making 'hurry up gestures' at the both of them. "We'll beat the traffic this way."
And they'll be fewer cops!
Jason sighed. "Just don't get her too drunk," he told Atalanta before waving her off. He turned towards Polyxena and kissed her cheek softly, telling her to have fun.
Polyxena looked clearly miffed at being waved goodbye like that but got out of bed and smoothed her clothing, "Alright, going. I just... need to get a few things." And they could be on the road in a few minutes. She brushed her hair back, pinned it and lifted one hand to wave at Jason before turning to give a playful military-salute to Atalanta. Ready.
Atalanta grinned like Polyxena had done a triple summersault. "Good on you."
She handed the pans, and by handed she means dropped them, off to Jason and made her way out. They had to see her new baby. Parked right outside, just out of the way of a parking ticket, was a big pick up truck. "His name is Mel. I have a feelin he'll serve us well."
