If there was anything Artemis enjoyed the most about being mortal, it was probably coffee.
It was delicious. It was distinct. In a pinch, it could replace food. And it made her hyper.
Ever since she had died, Artemis found herself enjoying coffee more than she even had before. And now, she was enjoying a cup in a small coffee shop as she waited for Cassandra, ignoring the strange stares of other patrons who no doubt thought her to be a pathetic vagrant who had scraped enough money out of the sewers to work herself up to the status of paying customer.
But she didn't care what they thought. She had her life, she had her coffee, and maybe, just maybe, she was even a little bit in love. For the first time in a long time, Artemis was completely content with whatever she was.
