Crazy ramblings about my temporary fiber insanity

I am probably the worst poster ever... I am so behind on getting the pics for the last Kane show up, which isn't even on the horizon right now thanks to my lovely job! I really hate working retail. It's especially busy at my store right now - it's the beginning of "The Season" which is my dept so pretty much my entire section has switched merchandise in the past month, one of the other dept. mngrs was walked due to an astronomical failure in performing his job so that means we are not only going to be starting our busiest part of the year, we are going to be starting it with a core member of the crew being brand new! Sounds like fun huh? I'm not finished yet! Corp decided that over the next three weeks we have to rearrange 1/3 of our entire store, just to fit ONE new section in!!! Because they "want all of the new product to FLOW with the existing merchandise" Oh gag me! I am pretty sure that none of these people have ever worked a running store. I'm pretty sure that these people have never worked period. Everytime they hire a new person at corp level they send their resume out to the entire chain so we all know 'what a wonderful find' such person is and 'how we should be oh so grateful to have them with us' 98% of the people they have hired in the last 3 years have been trust fund children that wouldn't know how to handle working with the general public if it came with a manual!
Anyways, enough about my less than wonderful company. I had a moment of temporary insanity a few months ago and decided that I was going to make the presents for all the children in my family. There are 10 - 5 of which are my nieces and nephews and had such presents coming anyway. Out of the 10 I have 3 finished. Yeah, it looks dismal when I look at it like that. Thankfully the rest that I have to do, with the exception of 1 that I have already started, is done with chunkier yarn or is infant sized so they will go by quickly. And then I get to start focusing on the others that I am making things for. My parents, my brothers, and a few friends. Eesh! No pressure or anything huh? Wanna see a few of the things I've finished?

Frilly Lace & Cable mitts for my "Lil' Sis" that has decided, since she got engaged last winter, to become the epitome of girlie-girl.

Pedi-Socks for Mama. She and Auntie have become obsessed with pedicures over the past few years, unfortunately living in the northwest is kinda a downer for them. They usually end up either  waiting an hour at the salon for the nails to dry properly before they can put their sneakers back on or they end up with cold feet from wearing their flip-flops. So I will be making a pair of pedi-socks for each of them which takes just a day or so to make and added with a gift certificate to their fav salon makes it a pretty easy gift.

Yeah I know it's not the kids gifts I was talking about, but I still have to get pictures that do justice for them. Anyways, I'm off to watch tonight's episode of Master Chef - yes, I'm addicted to Gordon Ramsey's programs. All Bubba's fault. I cannot stand cooking shows, but of course Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Master Chef aren't really traditional cooking shows. And of course Chef is pretty much like most of the chefs I have met - and I have met several - and he doesn't act fake, he doesn't apologize for being who he is. So far I am liking Jake, the big bbq guy, and Whitney, the youngest one here. I'm leaning more towards Jake though. Maybe it's because he reminds me so much of Bubba...

rl sucks, insanity abounds, fiber
