[Finally, she's back. But she looks like she's in bad shape.]

[Asking if she's okay has no point, even if Yuma wants that reassurance. Kyoko is obviously not okay.]

Kyoko needs to go to the clinic. You're still all beat up. Where are you?

Wh-

[She's still half coughing, and pockets the soul gem to pick up the PCD shakily.]

...What the hell happened, kid.

[Her head is pounding, she can't sort out these new memories yet.

[She was the first to turn into a witch, after all. She had no idea what had happened to Yuma and Mami.]

[She gives the older girl a serious look.]

The Animus lady Mami-oneechan made a deal with made us pay her favor back.

Yuma will tell you more when you tell her where you are, okay? Kyoko needs to get help first.

She did wha-

[Her eyes widened considerably. There's no way she was that, there's no way she turned into a-]

[She shakes her head, and presses the coordinate button.]

[Yuma goes quiet. This would be better explained face to face.

Luckily, Yuma isn't too far away from the where the coordinates point her. After telling Kyoko she'll be right there, she arrives within minutes. She rushes to Kyoko's side, kneeling next to her and looking for any damage.]

Kyoko, are you okay? You're not hurt too badly, right?

[Kyoko is sitting down, still coughing and heaving, but the only blood is coming from her mouth.]

I don't have an injuries. This crap is just coming from my stomach.

Are you hurt on the inside?

[Yuma glances down, but doesn't try to heal her just yet. Once Kyoko realizes what happened, she probably won't want to be healed with magic.]

Kyoko's Soul Gem looks okay, at least.

Yeah, my stomach's-

[She has to pause to heave up yet more of that horrible red liquid. It just seems to keep coming and coming.]

[She coughs as she talks.]

....How is it clean? I saw it-

[She falters off at her own choice now. She saw it explode, right in front of her eyes.]

Mm, that's right. The same thing happened to Yuma and Mami-oneechan. That Animus lady did it.

[This is probably the most somber expression she's ever dared to show Kyoko. She doesn't really know how to make this better for her, so she waits for a reaction.]

Did we...

...

Did we turn into witches?

[She only looks at Yuma with surprise, her breath beginning to shake.]

[Yuma hides her face against Kyoko's shoulder, and motions towards the PCD. It's one thing to say it to the people of the city, but telling Kyoko that they'd all had their worst fears come true--.

That's something she can't really look the older girl in the face for.]

It's all on there. But you shouldn't watch that right now. You need to rest.

[Or ever, if Yuma had any say.]

[Kyoko freezes, if only for how sudden the touch is. Her nerves are on end, but-]

[Slowly she turns to pat Yuma's head, but then she drops her hand and wraps her arms around the younger girl softly, tentatively. Trying to keep her close, so it wouldn't happen again. It made partial sense in her mind.]

I'm not going to watch shit like that. You should know I know what's in the past should stay there.

[She curls up, making herself as small as possible so any damage Kyoko's body does have but she's hiding won't be made worse. She nods, and breathes in deeply. The worry that Kyoko might not come back had been repressed and smothered, but it had still been there, and the tension in her body was slowly starting to unwind.]

Mm, Kyoko should always keep looking forward. 'Cause we're not gonna let that happen again, right?

[She doesn't let go, even if a part of her wants to. She holds on tighter, knowing that she could trust Yuma with emotions like these. She's still tense, but it's fading as well.]

There's not a chance in hell I'm letting this happen again to me, you, or Mami.

[The "I'm" is emphasized above all else.]
