MUZZLE is an online poetry magazine I am starting because I think there needs to be a better space to share the poetry being produced by slam/performance poets (and to review it) than Facebook. I by no means want to shut the door on submissions from non-slam poets--I just want the door to be propped open to slam poets for a change. I have no interest in literary cannons of restraint. I like to be astonished. I like poems.
We are now officially open to submissions for our first issue (which is scheduled to come out in July 2010).
MUZZLE will publish poetry, book reviews, performance reviews, interviews, and art. We only accept unpublished work (we will not hold your personal blog or chapbooks against you). Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please let us know ASAP if your work is accepted elsewhere.
