Death Cab Love!
Yesterday was awesometastic like whoa!! it started off pretty rough since i got four hours of sleep then went to school like dead tired. school was the following: choral death, study sleepiness, english group test with angielove, physics chats, and handing in my history research paper which had caused the mere four hours of sleep. After that i left school early with ana and we crashed at my house til it was time to leave. we took the bus into the city then had a mad amount of time to spare so we went and looked around h&m and forever 21 <3. Finally the time for the concert rolled around and we went on the line to enter.
Hammerstein Ballroom is excellent might i just say. Ana and i had Mezzanine2 seats but with the structure of the place we ended up realizing that they were the perfect seats since we were front row center of the tier. It was actually better than if we were on the ground cause we could perfectly see everything w/o tall people in our way. It might have been better on the first mezzanine but i'm glad that we were where we were <3.
Anyways so the concert... first we had to wait for a while since we had gotten there so early. We got to the venue at 5, the door opened at 6, and the concert started at like 7;30 or something. The first act was the opening band, the Cribs. At first i thought that they were cute since the guys were brothers and the singer had the same voice which was really cool. But after like the first 2 songs they got really annoying since the songs sounded the same and it was just kinda blaring in your ears. At the end of their set the guitarist left his guitar on the speaker making it just like stay on this horrible high pitch ew! jeez i didn't like them especially after that!
Since Franz Ferdinand and Death Cab for Cutie were co-headlining, Franz went next much to our surprise. WE had figured that death cab would go first since they were above death cab on the tickets. It was cool tho cause i like Franz decently and i'm glad that i saw them but i would've been just as happy to have death cab go first so that we could've left early and done something else.
Anyways, Franz Ferdinand kicked ass! Their show was cool since they had an interesting set and a great lights to go with the music. I've only heard like 4 of their songs but when they played them i was like yay awesome!!! cause then i could sing along and really enjoy it. Otherwise the set was better at the beginning than the end since those i knew came at the beginning. Also there was another song which was awesome since it had a cool interlude in the middle where they were talking and being cute. The lead singer has such an awesome accent i was just like wow <3. I <3 Franz Ferdinand.
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE OMG!! From the moment that their set began to the very last note i was just sooo absorbed by their music and the show that they put on itself. Their setup was really cute with these funny looking houses and lights that looked like a city. It was just amazing to see them right there in front of you instead of on the tv and computer screen. I wasn't in love with their song selection that they played but it didn't matter cause i love all the songs anyways. I do wish that they played either marching bands of manhatten or you heart is an empty room, but i'm cool with death cab regardless. They played such an amazing show and afterwards i was mezmerized. At the end of the set we were all going nuts for and encore and then FINALLY ben came on the stage and sang i will follow you into the dark which made ana and i like explode!! it was simply incredible.
After the show we stopped by White Castle: My first White Castle experience EVER!!!! omg white castle is amazing!!! <3 took me long enough to get white castle jeez lol. yeah so we picked that up and went to catch the bus and went home.
I'm pretty sure i'm still in shock and awe mode of that concert! <3
