History
Alexei was abandoned by his parents as a child along with his younger brother Raven. They would help one another when necessary, but in the end they went off their separate ways.
Alexei became distrustful of people and especially looks down on others who mistreat people unfairly. Picking on the weak and defenseless basically. He found himself working from place to place to survive until he was old enough to become part of the city watch. He wanted to stop all the injustice he saw within the village, but he made things difficult by acting independently on his own. He didn't exactly trust his own peers and did everything his own way. At times, it puts him in trouble with the authority, but no one ever does anything because he always gets the job done efficiently.
One day, while he was on duty he was passing by the Mikan Orchard that was owned by a woman name Bellemere. He saw two kids come in and run out with mikan fruits while being chased by Bellemere. She caught them and to his surprise, Bellemere did something he did not expect. She gave them the mikan fruit they had stolen and simply told them off to just ask next time or she'll give them a job. This whole time he didn't believe anyone was capable of any kindness and Bellemere changed that for him, she changed a lot of things in his life. They got together, fell in love with one another and soon they married and had a family. She already had a daughter from her previous marriage and their family grew to include another daughter and two sons. Because of his family, he slowly developed a more positive view of people and began to open up more.
Alexei would soon join the fight against the third party. He rose in the ranks quickly and many respected his abilities and leadership skills. Once he reached the rank of Captain, he was able to create his own squad. His currently consist of Flynn Scifo, Casey, Daisy and Zack Fair. Despite his achievements, this of course lessen his time he was able to spend with his family. Although Bellemere understood he had a demanding job, she was unhappy to see him spend less time with the family. Then one day, while Alexei was away, the third party came for his family. Bellemere would die protecting her children before anyone could respond and stop the Third Party. This left a heavy feeling of guilt on Alexei and he became even more distant with his family after that.
He still cares for his family, but most of his children are old enough now to manage on their own and he has a difficult time relating with them from being away due to work, especially with his two younger sons, hence why he can seem rather distant.
Alterations
Not too much has changed except he hasn't completely lost it yet. Alexei still has a strong view on punishing the unjust and joins the army to fight against the third party. Because he has family, they've kept him from completely going to the deep end so he never becomes the manipulative bastard near the end of his canon.
His views are still a bit extreme, but that's due to the environment he grew up in. He'll only look out for those that matter to him and has a realistic somewhat morbid view of things. Shit happens all the time, deal with it.

Younger brother. Like a rollercoaster of a relationship. Went separate ways when younger, but helped one another when it was necessary. Doesn't approve of his brother being up to unlawful things and leading a mafia and that caused a larger rift between them. Later on, he became more willing to see his brother after he supposedly "changed his ways".

Cousin. On good terms and someone he likes to visit to have long conversation about a lot of things. Basically his sophisticated bff/cousin.
