[The video feed flares brightly as a pair of torches are lit. The room is dark and spartan, there is an ornate golden chair, occupied by a dark-skinned bald man wearing an equally ornate Egyptian collar over black robes, holding a staff. He pounds it once on the ground.]

Sam Winchester. You are on trial for the crimes you have committed against the whole of Creation, specifically ending the world and unleashing the Croatoan virus. How do you plead?

[The defendant in this case is seated in a chair, chains wrapped firmly around his chest, but the looks of him, they’re not even necessary. He’s ghostly pale, his eyes wide, distant and terrified. His voice is quiet, pleading and he doesn’t seem quite aware of his surroundings.]

Dean?

Allow me, Sam. [A blonde man in jeans and a workshirt shimmers into view, laying a steadying hand on Sam’s shoulder. The younger Winchester makes a wounded sound and tries to flinch away from Lucifer’s grip.]

I won’t debate that Sam has made some terrific mistakes in his life. But all of it, all of those sins were forgiven in one bright, shining moment. The moment he said yes. [He lays a hand tenderly on Sam’s hair.] That was the one thing that he did right, the one thing that grants him absolution. Sam said yes.

((to clarify : you can comment as a witness for or against, since I’m puppetting a few, please indicate who you’re addressing))
