And so it begins...
Hello there! I was realizing, I wish I had the internet at home, because I would totally be flooding this thing with constant, constant updates about the wedding. Although, therefore, I'm sure you all appreciate the fact that I do NOT have the internet at home. :) Regardless, here's an update.
We hit our first couple bumps in the road for planning. Not between Josh and I, though, which is good. I told my dad that my uncle was walking me down the aisle, and man, was he pissed. Not that I was super surprised. But he decided that he was just going to be at my wedding as a guest and not take part in it (I had asked him to still do the father/daughter dance with me at the reception). So I told him that I respect his decision, blah blah blah, and now I get to dance with someone that is actually important to me, like my Godfather or my brother. So it will be good. :) Then there was a big debacle with Josh's folks, about which I won't go into detail here, I'll just say that it sucked. But it'll all be fine.
And we're starting to get responses! It's very exciting! We've actually had quite a few regrets, so we were able to invite a few more people. It's been cool to get all kinds of mail. I'll hopefully be going to order my flowers sometime this week (if I can get a hold of my aunt!), and I need to go get my shoes, because my first dress fitting is August 4th. Which also means I need to get my ass to the gym. And stop eating. :) We also got our wedding bands, and sent them out to be engraved. They're beautiful. I can't wait to wear it for real. And we picked our vows, and I love them too.
In non-wedding related news, Nancy is living with me now (I don't know if I ever explained that one... she's pregnant and needs to keep her insurance here until her husband's kicks in in Arizona in October, so she's staying with me and Josh for a bit). That's going great - she's a great roommate. She bakes! :) She's also doing well with the pregnancy - she's really cute. And the most exciting part of it is that she and Jason asked us to be Godparents! It's so awesome. So Josh and I have already started our plans to go visit our Godson shortly after he is born, probably the first week of December. We have been so blessed and are so honored. It's going to be great - we're going to make him the biggest Red Sox fan ever. Red Sox onesies for all! :)
Work is... work. I applied for a promotion (a big one, actually), but haven't heard back from my dumbass boss. So keep your fingers crossed for me. Josh and I also found our new apartment in Shrewsbury and will be moving on August 1st. Well, Josh will be there August 1st. I'll be moving back home until after the wedding. So, Lowell, here I come. ...again. :p
