Matinicus

Frost on the car window.

This is the plane we took to Mantinicus Island. Yep, that's right, it's freakin' tiny. I was rightly terrified.

Mid-morning glow over the Atlantic from the coast of Maine. From a tiny plane, of course.

The copilot for this trip had no prior experience flying small planes. AKA, me. Exhilarating, but terrifying.

River ice flow from the air. Right before we flew over the ocean.

Shoals off the coast.

The Matinicus Island schoolhouse. It's a one room school house, cute, and the kids there (there's seven of them, mostly under the age of 8 with one 11 year old) are really great.
