Interpretations of note

Everyone has their own way of viewing the character, right? Well, I thought I'd write down what's notable about how I perceive, and thus play, Kuja. I try to keep things canon, but there are fun little whatifs that add color to RP. So let's get that rundown going, shall we?~

-He is from right before the scene change at the bottom of the Iifa Tree. So, canon FF9, not Dissidia.

-I'm playing Kuja as straight. I know, he's the most fabulous villain in Final Fantasy, but that's how I see him. I respect other people's interpretations of his orientation (after all, unless disclosed, you can't really know).
In rpgthatneverwas, however, I'm playing him as a 1.5 on the Kinsey scale.

-On that subject, he does not love Garnet (not that I hate the ship). Kuja prefers mature women, not teenagers.

-Kuja's is a Red Mage. Obviously because of his use of both white and black magic, but I also think that his hair is pale (instead of the usual blond) because of that - all the other Red Mages you meet also have pale hair, so I assume it's part of the training. Kuja will not admit to once being blond unless under duress.

-He uses his magic to hide his tail (Vanish, maybe?).

-He can quasi-fly like in Dissidia, but it's probably artistic use of the Float spell. He still wants his Silver Dragon for long distance transport and the Rule Of Cool. =< And he's fond of her.

-I'm taking artistic license and assuming he knows a lot of the more basic white/black spells, like Cure, Pancea, Fire, Sleep, etc. For one thing, he uses Sleep in a cutscene. For another, one does not go from nothing to 100% - I'm assuming he's using only the more powerful spells against Zidane et co. - no reason to waste MP on weak attacks.

-Kuja gained his status in Treno by removing a curse on the patriarch of the King family - being the head of a powerful family, the patriarch would be the target of society climbers; what better way to knock him off than by using a curse a white mage alone can't cure? So Kuja, being quite the accomplished red mage, removes the curse and bumps off the curser to boot. Grateful, and also seeing a good political ally, the patriarch bestows his favor upon Kuja, the idea being to "advertise" Kuja as a way of saying "hey, don't mess with me, or this guy will fuck your shit up". To set Kuja up with cash to go with the new prestige, he bestows him with running the auction house. Of course, this means that Kuja hires the auctioneer to take care of the day-to-day while he's off setting up and acting out his plans
