Kadaj stepped from the portal out of the Nexus into a long abandoned church in the ruins of Midgar. He turns, drawing his Souba waiting for the creature to arrive.

Pyron appears in a flourish of flames, crossing his arms and waiting.

"I await your attack."

The materia in the boy's arm begins to glow and pulse as he steps forward. "I thought, you were the superior. Why do you not show me how?"

In response, Pyron sends a massive ball of flame at him.

"Worthless. Disappear from my sight."

The materia flared up and Kadaj released his spell, the massive Freeze spell hit the fireball head on, contesting it in midair, before they dissipated. Kadaj smirked.

"Is that all?"

Pyron disappears for a moment, teleporting behind Kadaj. He moves to punch him.

"Hardly."

With flip, Kadaj flies backwards, aiming a kick for the creature's face.

"Good."

The boot collides with Pyron's face, his head barely moving from the impact.

"So your are quick. How very fun."

He chases after Kadaj, firing numerous small balls of plasma at him.

"You cannot dodge forever, human."

Kadaj flips and dodges, before running in low, and aiming a Souba stroke at the thing's legs.

"I am not a human."

The strike shears through his leg, which soon regenerates in a burst of flames.

"You are close enough in form to those beings, and destroying me with such weapons is rather difficult."

"Oh good. It wouldn't be fun otherwise."

With another flip and a twist, he flick three blades at the creature's throat, while summoning two shadow creepers to his side.

The blades sink into his throat, quickly burning away.

"I will reduce you to ashes."

He begins building up energy in his palms, creating large halos of flame around his hands.

With a grin Kadaj powers up the Materia again, readying for another spell, as the shadow creeper charge, leaping into the air to pounce the creature.

He raises one hand at the beasts, peppering the air with white-hot plasma. He continues charging the other hand.

The beasts turn to dust, as Kadaj unleashes another rain of blades at the creature.

Pyron unleashes the a second, larger blast direct at Kadaj, incinerating the blades as it travels.

The boy quickly summons a Barrier spell, wincing a little as the blast hits it, he stoically stands his ground as the flames lick at his arms and legs around the edges of the barrier.
