[It had to happen sometime, no matter what. Even she couldn't live without sleep forever, just as she needed food even if she no longer noticed the hunger for what it was. But the scene that stretched out before her left her feeling something she'd almost forgotten.

Fear. Rage.

Scorched earth stretched on as far as the eye could see, husks of flowers lay withered at her feet, and the ground was cracked and split, gaping chasms yawning like open toothless maws. The sky was burned and hazy with smoke from destroyed cities whose broken forms dotted the horizon, but there was one landmark that stood out above all else.

The burning form of a meteor, large as a moon as it fell, black as death and large enough to destroy the whole planet in a single strike. A writhing, fleshy mass rose from one of the nearest splits in the earth, huge and monstrous, deformed and alien. A growth forms, growing larger and larger until it bursts, and a multi-winged form erupts from the main body, rising above it with a triumphant laugh.]

The Harbinger comes riding on the black wings of Death, the Calamity from the Skies will burn the world in fire to ash and dust and none will survive and the Promised Land shall be destroyed. No. No no no no no no NO.

[Her muttering becomes a scream of rage and fury, and the ground rips open around her as she summons enough energy to blast through the ship itself. Green pillars of light tear through the earth, a beacon that lights up the desolate plain and seven gargantuan titans appear on the horizon, answering the call of the Planet. The sound of thousands of screams echo in the green light, souls of the Lifestream responding to the threat of the Calamity. Terrified of what will happen.]

Won't happen, won't let it, won't!

[Sephiroth ignores her, destroying the WEAPONs with a wave of his hand. Casting a cool glance at the last Cetra, he lifts his hand, and before Aerith can do anything, JENOVA lashes out. She stumbles as the creature pierces her, pitching forward into the open earth. The green light flickers and dies as Aerith falls, her blood staining the broken earth that crumbles around her.

Gaia has fallen, the Promised Land is lost, the Harbinger has come.]
