All that is Manhattan

Last week I went to New York City with some friends. I've never been and it was quite the experience; it was nice to be out of Toronto and to see somewhere new. Manhattan was unbelievable.

The only word that can describe the trip is "surreal". You hear about places and see them in movies, but it doesn't really exist until you get there. Omg. Manhattan DOES exist!

On Monday we went to Staten Island and saw the Statue of Liberty along the way. We then went to Chinatown and got some knock-off purses. Quite the experience. Next was the Empire State Building, but we didn't get a chance to go up. On Monday night we ended up in Times Square, which was pretty intense - what a sensory overload. We then walked past the New York Public Library (I went in on my own on Wednesday to drool) and then Central Station, which was beautiful. On Tuesday we went to Central Park and to a taping of Jon Stewart. A bunch of shopping and touristy things were done on Wednesday during the day. In the evening we went to see "The Phantom of the Opera." Long story short, we spent 13 hours walking around Manhattan just on Monday. So much walking and so many pictures.

Anyway, I just under 600 pictures. Believe me when I say that five days is NOT enough time to see and do everything.
