Blood Stained Promises and Forgotten Lives

You hold back, you let go
Your life was just a blur
Your so far, But you came close
To the life you would prefer

Over the course of lifetimes
Your life time couldn’t last
Generation after generation
Memories, gone in a flash

An instant of white light
Was no more then a shutter
Undeveloped film forever
Lost in lifetimes of clutter

When you look back from right now
Tell me...what do you see
Mountains moved and oceans crossed
Or just regret and uncertainty

I don’t want this life to be
Just another lost cause
I want the world to remember me
My beauty, and my flaws

My regret is unbearable
A most constant source of pain
But I use it to better myself
...make you remember my name

Someday I will be gone
This I have come to accept
Remember life for the smiles dear
But also for the tears i wept

But for now I’m still here
Hold me while you can
A thousand second chances
To help you understand

The bright light is blinding
From the lens a tear drop fell
For beautiful is the painful bliss
On the past I shall not dwell

You came so close, you let go
Another day to try
Hard as it is to live
...its harder to say goodbye
