My first day in Austria i think i woke up at about 5 in the morning, i really have no idea. Jetlag really sucks. I laid in bed and watched the sunlight slowly creep over the piece of sky i can see through my window. I tossed and turned and finally decided i should just explore my new house. When i went downstairs the clock showed 7:05. In case you wondered. I went outside and found out we have a small pond. Its maybe 5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1 meter deep. There were assorted keyboards laying around in the backyard. As i looked around the quite expansive backyard for living in a city, i heard some strange noises. I followed the peculiar sounds and discovered to my suprise a chicken coup with i think 5 chickens....we live in the city, a city of 250,000. Meine Mutti told me the day before that the house was built 1910. She also said that yeah, that isnt that old....
There is a ground floor two the house, and then up two sets of spiral concrete staircases there are two more floors making a total of 3 upper floors. Besides these i went down some stairs and discovered a basement. In the basement there was a laundry room, a furnace room, typical basement stuff, and what i didnt expect to find was the wine cellar. A room in the basement dedicated entirely to wine. At least 50 bottles of wine lined the walls and filled the racks in the middle of the room. I also found downstairs a pantry and a storage room where i counted 9 pairs of skis of varying sizes. In the storage room a found another door which led down some stairs to the garage which suprised me since the garage is at least 2 flights of steps away from the ground floor and is down by the street. After my exploration of my house i went back upstairs and fell asleep. Jet lag sucks.
I didnt tell you about the other parts of the house. On the first floor, they call the ground floor 0, there is a cool little family room with couches a tv and a piano, which they actually use. They dont have a drier so they have sort of deck thats inside with huge windows so it gets really hot from the sun and they just hang all the clothes there. It works really well. Most people in Austria dont havea drier. My room is on the top floor and blah blah blah its really hard to describe a house with words so ill take some pictures. The problem is that my camera doesnt work right now because it needs special batteries that i didnt bring with me....but when it get that up i will post pictures. Thats my house. Cool huh?
