[Frey's just sitting in bed, ironically, changing his bandages. He blinks, though, when he hears Kaori's voice coming from his open journal. He'd hoped to hear from her and Zan'nen the past few days, and kept his journal on him at all times.] Kaori?! Are you ok?

[His voice is obviously worried. He doesn't know why it happened, but something had to have been wrong for it to happen.]

[Her breath nearly hitches in her throat when she hears the obvious worry, because oh gods this guilt.]

I'm sorry...! [Not even realizing the words are leaving her mouth, she just keeps repeating that because... she hurt him, when she should have been strong enough to resist those emotions at the time.] Im sorry, I'm sorry...!

I was. When you attacked me... I thought I might have hurt him and you were angry. But I couldn't bring myself to contact you. [He wasn't sure what happened, honestly, but that was the idea he'd decided made sense.] Are you both ok? Is Zan'nen still hurt?

I don't know if he's still okay... [She hasn't seen him yet today, and by the sound of things over the journals what was happening over the week was an experience. All she knew was that there was a sudden decline of Human-like signatures.

But... how was she even supposed to start explaining to Frey why she attacked him?] You... didn't hurt him, I think...

You kinda did, but it only looks that way to you because you haven't seen how it goes before... [In a sense, Frey did heal him. Just not in the way he expected.]

... He was becoming one of my mother's kind... [Not hers, she was something different. Thank goodness Zan'nen had turned into a pure one instead of one in limbo like her, he likely wouldn't have survived.]

Sometimes, that happens to a Human, he becomes one... that was his transformation into one.

It would? Why? [He's pretty much gotten the idea that people in her world are... very cruel, but he doesn't quite understand the how or why.]

Wouldn't you be afraid of someone who is throwing up their insides, but somehow doesn't die from it and comes out a completely different creature that still has the appearance of a Human? [That was the argument she heard most for why the average Human would try to kill on sight, and to some extent she could understand.]

....I'd be worried, not afraid of them specifically. I'd want to know they were ok and there wasn't a plague going around. [Kaori.

Some of the troops back home chew though ships in battle.]
