[Frey had just come home from practicing at the barracks to find his mother wasn’t around, so he’d gone looking around the house for her.
But she’s not in the kitchen. Or the living room. Heading to check her room, he knocks quietly, only for the door to creak open.] Mother….?
[His eyes widen, though, when he finds the room is bare. Completely bare, like it was before they moved in. Panicked, he pulls open the closet, his journal falling out of his pocket and opening as he does so, but there’s nothing hanging there. It’s the same with the drawers when he yanks those open.] No…. She can’t.
Why……She…. Damn them. If she goes home… She'll-!
[Slamming his fist against a wall. His voice is choked as he holds back what feels suspiciously like tears. This isn’t fair. She had nothing to look forward to at home, nothing except death, and now-]
[Frey can’t be here right now. It’s too empty. So out into the snow he goes, heading to the river that reminds him of home. He’ll probably be there until it’s absolutely too cold to be out, considering he didn’t grab a coat.]
