Normally, the little Italian restaurant was closed by this hour, but Mario had paid the owner a visit, brought kind words and presents. That respect and the Falcone name were enough to convince the man to keep his doors open just a little later tonight to play host.
Mario, dressed nicely but not too much so, parked his car-a sleek, new Mustang-and got out. He went around to the other side and opened it for his female passenger, offering her a smile and a hand to assist in getting out. Any Falcone man-and Mario in particular-prided himself on being a gentleman.
“Little hole-in-the-wall place, but they had excellent lunch, so I thought it’d be perfect. Not too busy.” Of course, that was also helped by the fact that Mario knew there’d be no other customers. “Hopefully you’ll like it.”
