January is now finished and I'm at 123,350yds
Compare that with 71,925yds last year at this point ... not too shabby.
School is going well thus far. Having two lab sciences is proving more difficult than i expected.
This week was my first round of tests, so I'll know more on where I stand later. Once this semester is over,
I'll be down to my certificate courses to get me out of Tech. (excitement)^4
Life has been very interesting. Every person around me seems to be in one transitional phase or another
right now. My family dynamics are much different, some of my friends are graduating/moving,
some of my friends are dealing with life's challenges, and I'm enjoying the show. My life is somewhat dull
by comparison, and it has that "plowin' the farmland" feel at the moment, but progress has proved
to be very rewarding.
Me has gone through a lot as of late. I'm 22 and I can feel it. The difference has been slowly creeping
into my person since mid-fall last year. I like who I am and who I'm going to be in the years to come.
And that's all I have to say about that. lol
Love has been a patient observer while i get 'me' into working order. I'm really not in a place
to do the dating thing. I barely have time to rest, let alone have real fun. The friends I still have (thankfully)
understand my priorities; and fortunately, many of them share my passions- so i enjoy a circle of people
i care about ... and that is enough for right now.
On the other hand,. I'd be lying if i said i don't miss having someone close,
but I'm learning so much about what i actually want in a woman
what kind of girl really bring out the best in me
and what kind of relationship i really want to be in ... and i don't need to learn from trial and error yet.
Funny 'behind the curtain' thing is ... I prayed some time ago that I'd be given that chance to learn
how to love "between the extremes" ... and i'm getting those opportunities now. very cool!!
The rest is swimming stuff...

8 workouts, avg [30k - 50k] per week.
i'm happy with the way it's been working so far.
goals are starting to appear realistic.
for the longest time i've been talking about how i've got to "train at racing speed"
i didn't follow through on it (probably for the same old reasons) until recently.
these past two weeks, i've swam harder than i've done in practice ... ever.
hitting 50s free in 26, 50s back under 30s, holding the same pace in fly throughout the sets.
and i'm consistently going under 1:00 on my 100fr repeats ... a welcome improvement.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
mardi gras meet is less than a month away!
i'm excited for this one ... should be a good mid-season check for me
100 back (hopefully go sub 58)
50 free (another try at 21)
100 free (another try for 48)
200 free (let's see what i can hold)
50 back (anything under 27 at this point will be fine)
50 fly (if i can get down to 24 low, i'll have shot at dropping to 23s)
i might swim a masters meet the weekend before to get a time in the 500 free and 100 fly.
i'd rather not struggle through either of those two with a swim club audience, lol.

that's about it for now...
