why brokeback was stupid
ok so for those of you out there who champion brokeback mountain as some kind of artistic masterpiece, do two things for me. first, stop reading at the end of this sentence and then go do the world a favor and get yourself neutered. if youre still reading, go one step further and just kill yourself so no one has to listen to you anymore. first of all, the only reason that anyone even fucking paid attention to this movie was because it was two dudes. everyone gets hard over it because "oh look, gays in pop culture, its so great that by seeing this i can sleep at night after being close-minded during the day." the only way this movie had any value was as perhaps a brief look at the difficulties of being gay men in that particular time and place. even then it wasnt that great, because besides ennis, i think, getting killed at the end, it wasnt that bad; just the regular trials and tribulations of having an affair. as a gay love story, awful, simply fucking awful. all they ever talked about was the sex. sex sex sex. i mean yeah they were affectionate, but would it really be possible to fall in love with someone after being able to see them like once a month tops? i know theyre gay and sub-human, so maybe we shouldnt expect that kind of emotional commitment from them, but still hollywood, give me a damn break. and lastly, this pissed me off the most, was the sexual content of the movie. when they first have sex, i was fine with all that EXCEPT WHEN JAKE FUCKING SPITS IN HIS HAND TO LUBE UP ENNIS'S ASS. shit. listen, you wouldnt see that kind of thing in any other rated-r movie. was it even necessary? correct me if im wrong, but he didnt even give his wife that particular benefit... and then, and this probably got me the worst, was when ennis went to mexico to see a fucking prostitute. holy shit. in all my years of watching heterosexual couples in the media, not fucking once have i seen them have a fight and one of them goes to a prostitute. seriously, what the hell was that? was it necessary? i dont know about you guys, but if i was already against gays going into this movie, it certainly would not have helped things. so once again pop culture, up yours for pissing me off.
