Top 10 Favourite Breaking Bad Episodes (S1-4)

Aug 03, 2012 20:07

You know that after DVD marathons I always do Top 10 episode posts? Well, my favourite episode celebration for Breaking Bad is a little late - or a little early seeing as I should really wait till the end of S5 - but here it is. I'm sure I'll end up posting a fresh list some time after the last eight airs next year.

But these are my most treasured ( Read more... )

LUNE! So nice to hear from you. Sharing fandoms with you is always the greatest. I've missed it! I love that your loving Breaking Bad. It's the best show to marathon and if you loved S1 it only gets better (and crazier) from this point on. And yes, stay spoiler free if you can. I promise I'll keep my BB reaction posts behind LJ cuts. I can't wait to hear your reactions too! This show will seriously put you through the ringer. It's up there with BSG as the most satisfyingly traumatic show I've ever watched. I'm still practically shaking from last nights episode (that I've just caught up on this morning).

Yay, you're a Game of Thrones fan too! Yes, I do love Theon. In S1 he didn't make much of an impression on me but once they got into Theon's backstory and I realised he'd been living with the Starks as a hostage, I was really fascinated by him. Alfie Allen was terrific in S2. I hope he comes back in S3 somehow.

Are you still posting at Geeksquee? Last time I tried to visit I got virus warnings on my computer so I've been shying away and keeping my fandom posts to LJ. I still chat to Kaja a lot and Pace, Sapph and Jelly from time to time.

I already find BB amazing but I'm ecstatic to know it gets better! I think it has the potential to become one of my favorites along with BSG, Fringe and the x-files. I missed sharing fandoms with you too - you're insight is amazing. I'm always impressed by your analysis and your ability to make links between storylines and see the underlying themes. And we seem to enjoy the same characters which is quite eery.

As for GoT, I did some research and yes, it's been confirmed that Alfie is back for season 3 even though Theon is absent for the next two books (I'm currently reading book one and got a bit spoiled. sigh).

Not posting at GS much lately. Facebook is where I spend most of my time when I'm online. I've been marathon training a lot and I QUALIFIED TO RUN THE BOSTON MARATHON!!! So that how I've been spending my 'free' time lately. ;)

You might know this already, but Vince Gilligan (BB's creator and show runner) is a former X-Files writer, so you're in good hands. BB is one of the most slick and flawless shows I've come across. The writing quality never dips. There have been no bad episodes or filler episodes to my mind so far. And the characters are great. For once I probably like the main characters (Walt, Skyler and Jesse) the most, but Jesse especially. I've said this a lot, but Jesse Pinkman for me is like a surrogate Charlie Pace with a much better written storyline.

What is Fringe like? I know a lot of posters on my flist watch it but I don't even know the premise. It's never aired in the UK as far as I know.

Yay! Glad to hear Theon's back. I think they changed his story somewhat but if that means we see more of that character I won't complain.

Can I friend you on Facebook? I'd love to be able to keep in touch. If that's okay I'll send you my link in a PM. Good luck with your marathon! I could do with something like that just to get myself fit.

Fringe is awesome! If you get a chance, I highly recommend it, especially since they (against all odds) have been renewed for a 5th and final season. Ratings are awful (for a Fox show) but I think it gets so much support from fans, tv critics and the network that it keeps being renewed.

It's a bit like the x-file but pure science fiction (no ghosts or vampires!). From the official synopsis: 'A television drama centered around a female FBI agent who is forced to work with an institutionalized scientist in order to rationalize a brewing storm of unexplained phenomena.' I swear, it's better than it sounds! Olivia (the FBI agent) is one of the best and strongest female character on TV but the heart of the show is the absolutely messed up but wonderful relationship between the institutionalized scientist (Walter) and his son (Peter).

The first season is entertaining but the show really get its identity and awesomeness in season 2.

Here's an interesting link - 5 shows you should be watching (yes, BB is #1. I've seen so many of those lists where Fringe is listed along with BB that I decided to give BB a shot):

Cool! I'd love to see a pure SF show. I'm often not a fan of shows that mix science fiction with supernatural elements - like Lost did - because it creates too much of a clash for me. I'm trying a bunch of new shows on DVD at the moment but I'll certainly keep Fringe in mind.

Breaking Bad sometimes feels a little like a SF show to me, only because Walt often resorts to crazy scientific measures to solve problems and get them out of scrapes.

Two scientists named Walter. Ha! Although Fringe!Walter is adorable. hmm. Well, maybe not always(yikes!). Now that I think of it, both of them are ready to do anything to protect their family - actions that have disastrous consequences.

I would love to read your reactions if you decide to start watching Fringe!!
