Evidently, 2/4 on Stars is unbeatable.
Woke up around 6pm and spent a few hours clearing the PS bonus. Average Saturday crowd and my game is on playing 3/6 and 5/10. Take a break, watch a movie, cook, clean... now it's 5:30am, I'm still not tired and everyone is still giving money away, right? It's downright giving money away to do anything, to be anywhere else, right?? 5/10 looks nasty, 10/20 is just H@ll playing everyone heads up with 20k stacks, but I see a juicy 80% to the flop 2/4 game going on- and I'd like to tidy up my PT stats, anyway!
Second orbit, second hand in. I have a terrible terrible feeling that things are about to go wrong, so I click off my autopost and then find AA UTG+1. Get it in pre-flop vs an outstanding 87% vpip gentleman for a little over a full stack after I shove to his reraise mostly hoping to take it down there and go... and the board of course comes four to a straight, three to a flush, and my opponent shows a rivered set of jacks saying "I have the bankroll to make those calls." Yeah.
Note this snazzy screenshot of what hands can't win at this limit (6 max always, though it doesn't say). Note hand window at the bottom where 2+2 regular rivers a boat after the flop gives us both trips and me with the nut kicker. All in with one card to come. Or the jacks vs 8T off, flop comes T8x, turn is 8, river another T. Donkey asks, "what'd you have?" but I'm afk getting a tall glass of Jagermeister.
Of course this is standard (especially for
Steve) and I'm just furious and pointlessly ranting as I've been tilting on and off for three days because of the ridiculous variance I've been experiencing- swings of 3k per hour at 5/10 10/20 mostly HU vs ElkY of WC3 fame- usually ending up around $150 and slinking off, beaten and exhausted.
I need another vacation. Maybe one that actually lasts the full week I plan. Anyone for Cancun or something similar?
