Kinship- Steamwhistle Gallery

Jan 22, 2013 07:54

I screwed up the date of my art show, it's actually on the 6th of Febuary, not the 7th.

‘Kinship’ is an exhibition from thirteen Toronto artists that explores the symbolic nature of family and the imagery that artists use to represent togetherness, regardless of any blood relations. Through drawing, painting and illustration, each artist looks beyond the careful posing and immaculate coifs of tradition in order to present their own interpretation of the family unit. Some are fantastic and curious. Some are dignified and respectable. Some wear matching sweaters.

The Opening Night Party will take place on Wednesday February 6th 2013 from 7-11pm at Steam Whistle Brewing at 255 Bremner Blvd or visit the brewery during all of February to see the exhibition.

Featuring works from:

Ross McAuley

Johann Joseph TeBrake

Melanie Tranchemontange

Trevor Henderson

Gillian Blekkenhorst

Amy Killoran

Tim Comrie

Erin Rei Ornstein

Jenn Woodall

Ron Boyd

Sarah Walterhouse

This is going to be loads of fun so come on down, look at some art (buy some art?) and drink some beers. What's not to like?

Check out the facebook event.

I have been working super hard on my pics.  Here is a spoiler:

(In case you're curious, that's a Harvey Chan on the right and a Sabrina Scott on the left. I have the sexiest living room studio ever, thank you very much.)
