Part 1 &
Part 2 I woke up to the feeling of someone stroking my hair. I smiled sleepily as I remembered what happened last night. I opened my eyes and I found myself still against Stephen's chest. So it wasn't just a dream.
"Good morning, slacker," Stephen said.
"Hmm, good morning," I replied lazily. "What did I say about you stroking my hair?"
Stephen laughed and my head was bobbing against his chest.
"I don't care."
"You'll pay for that later," I mumbled. "What time is it anyways?"
"Around seven."
"Wow, I slept like a baby. I haven't slept more than four hours in years."
I lifted my head up to see Stephen smiling at me lovingly. I leaned into him and kissed him gently.
"Good morning," I smiled against his lips.
"Good morning," he smiled back.
"You slept okay?" I asked him.
"Better than," he replied.
Stephen was absolutely beaming.
"How long have you been up?"
"Just for a little while."
"Your back must be killing you, huh?"
"No, it's fine. It's kind of hard to worry about that. I wake up with my own show and my own Jon."
"Geez, thanks for mentioning your show before me."
"Well I'm just showing you how committed I am for this," He smirked.
I grinned like a madman as I snuggled against him again. I closed my eyes, enjoying the feel of his chest.
"Thank God it's Friday, we don't have to get up just yet."
"Take your time," he said, resuming to stroking my hair again.
"Is it crazy how we ended up like this?" I asked him
"Not crazy, more like unbelievable. I've waited a long time for this."
Those words made me feel like an asshole.
"I'm really sorry."
"What for?" He asked worriedly.
"For everything, for being so thick, for being such a dumbass for not realizing how I felt, for being so damn…"
"Hey, hey, hey, Jon," Stephen lifted my head and cupped my face. He stared at me with such intensity, "You have nothing to be sorry for, okay? I don't ever wanna hear you say that again. Even if you knew for a long time, you wouldn't have said anything, the same reason why I never said anything. Don't think about the past, and how things would've been. Shut up and enjoy what you have now, okay?
That sure shut me up.
I nodded against his hands.
"We should probably thank Sam for bringing us together, then." I grinned
"She was always something, that Sam." He chuckled.
"Yeah she is."
"I'm getting hungry, Jon. Should we rummage around the kitchen for something to eat?"
"That involves me getting up," I groaned.
"Come on get up, you should never stand between a man and his breakfast," he joked.
"Fiiiiine," I said as I got up, "You just ruined my morning for me," I pouted.
"Well, I think I can fix that." Stephen got up and turned me around to face him. He grasped me by the neck and pulled me in for a kiss. He slowly parted my lips with his tongue and entered my mouth. Our tongues danced together as we grew more desperate for each other.
He pulled back, "Is your morning fixed now?"
I was still trying to recover from that kiss. Stephen chuckled as he held my hand and led me towards the kitchen.
We found some PB&J and some toast. We sat down in our small table. Stephen nudged his knee against mine and shot me a coy smile. I nudged back.
His hair was sticking out from all sides, and he looked adorable. I stared at him, just admiring him. I never really appreciate how beautiful Stephen really is. I was looking forward to whatever happens next with us. It wasn't going to be easy, with our jobs, and the fact that we're both new at this, but I can't help but be excited. Somehow nothing will ever seem so bad as long as Stephen was by my side. I had to admit that after last night, I can't imagine myself without Stephen.
"You know, it doesn't hurt to say what you're thinking every once in a while," Stephen said.
"Sorry," I said.
"It’s okay, I just wanna know what's happening up there," Stephen tapped my temple. "So, what is happening up there?"
"Oh, nothing," I said. I took Stephen's hand in mine and started stroking his knuckles with my thumb."Just admiring how beautiful you are."
Stephen started blushing furiously, but tried to hide it with a chuckle. "Nice save. I'll let it slide this time. Just don't keep doing that. You already caught my bluff on mind reading."
I scooted closer to him and took his chin in my hand. He leaned towards my touch and I kissed the tip of his nose. "I won't."
We finished our breakfast and started walking towards the elevator hand in hand. I pressed the down button and waited.
"So um, you wanna come back home with me?" I asked hesitantly. I didn't know if I was going too fast but all I knew was that I wanted
Stephen every chance I got him. I already wasted years of all the things we could've done, and I wanted to make up for lost time.
"I think I should go home, take a shower, and change. I feel like a mess," Stephen said. "How about I come over tonight after I'm presentable?"
"I think you already look pretty damn presentable to me," I said.
"That's sweet, Jon." The elevator door opened and we stepped inside. "But I really think I should be heading home."
"As you wish, but you'll be missing out on some exciting things." I said.
Stephen put his arms around my waist and held me close. "Really, like what?" he smiled cheekily at me.
"Well, something on the same genre we were doing last night, maybe more…" I started kissing his jaw line.
"Hmm, if I come over tonight, are you to say we're not going to have a repeat of last night and more?" Stephen threw his head back as I started kissing his neck.
"Yes," I mumbled against his neck.
"You're a terrible liar, Jon. And you better stop that before I change my mind."
I giggled. "That's exactly what I'm trying to do," I pulled back.
The elevator opened and we headed outside. We waited until a cab pulled over and we got inside. I had the urge to hold Stephen's hand but I held back. We haven't really discussed if we wanted to get this out in the open or not. What kind of impact would that have on our jobs and our viewers? I didn't want to think about that now. All I wanted was Stephen by my side, and whatever difficulties we'd face we'll just face them together.
The cab pulled over at my place first because it was closer. I faced Stephen, "I'll see you tonight?"
Stephen clapped my shoulder, "Yeah, definitely. See you, Jon."
"See you, Stephen."
I got out of the cab and walked towards my apartment. I had a spring in my step and I felt like the happiest person in the world.
I got into my apartment and crashed on my couch. What to do now? Stephen won't be here for at least a couple of hours. So I did what I always do, watch CNN and get pissed at the absurdity of our world.
