Summary: Choi Seunghyun was the leader of the notorious gang BIG BANG. With recruits practically lining up, Seunghyun has everything. But then one of his members is killed off by a killer calling himself GD and everything is in turmoil. But don't worry, he happens to be in love. And doesn't love always make it better?
Author's Note: Alright. Number three. I obviously got better at this writing and posting thing. Can anybody figure out how I know when to post a chapter?
“Now, was that really necessary?” Yesung asked. “I didn't really have to follow him! You did that all on your own!”
Seunghyun rolled his eyes behind his designer pair of sunglasses and nodded. He had worn a normal black suit. “I'm here for the information on GD. You said it was compiled?”
Yesung nodded his head and smiled. “Eunhyuk did that while you were on your date.” Yesung motioned to one of the members of his division and smiled. “Heechul wanted him in the Youth Division, but I took him away! He has talent that I'm not ashamed to exploit!”
Seunghyun chuckled at the antic and smiled. “As long as you're not hiding it,” he replied.
Eunhyuk walked over to Seunghyun and handed him a thick manilla folder. “It should all be in there,” he announced with a bow.
“Thank you,” Seunghyun replied as he took the folder and opened it up. Leafing through it, he noticed some pages that depicted the crime scenes where GD had supposedly killed people.
“Now, if you're finished, leave. Today seems like a very busy day.”
Seunghyun nodded his head and closed the folder. “Fine, fine, I'll leave.”
As Seunghyun left, he noticed Yesung move over to where he kept his odd feminne clothing. Shaking his head, he walked away from the flat.
His car was sitting to the side of the road and he climbed into the driver seat. “Take a look at this,” he said as he handed the folder to Seungri and started the car. “That's everything on GD.”
The boy, who was following Seunghyun again today, took the offered folder and flipped through it. Ten minutes into the drive, Seungri finally spoke up.
“According to this, there are people who imitate GD in his killing style, but people have found it unreliable. What if Hyunjin wasn't killed by GD?”
“So far, it's him that has been through this. How do we know that the guy after you is GD? We don't,” Seunghyun explained. “It's why we're researching.”
Seungri nodded his head and closed the folder. “So there's a chance that the real GD isn't even after me?” He laughed and Seunghyun looked at him oddly. “If anything, I would rather have the real GD out for me. Pride and all.” He opened the folder again to look through it. “Several people here got notes, but not all of them.”
“Which either means that he's sporadic about it, or he isn't really out for you,” Seunghyun reasoned. “Either way, we can't have him kill you. That would be a tarnish on my name and you'd be dead.”
Seungri shook his head with a chuckle. “At least you think of me to some extent.”
The drive took them to Youngbae's apartment and they both walked to the door. “Why are we here?” Seungri asked.
“A surprise visit,” Seunghyun said with a shrug. “And we're going to visit Heechul, I thought he might want to come.”
Seungri nodded and knocked on the door. There was a grumble as they heard Youngbae move around.
“What?” he asked when he opened the door.
“Hey!” Seungri greeted in his normal, hyper voice.
Youngbae's mood shifted dramatically as he saw the boy. “Seungri!” he greeted in return, a smile now on his face. “And the boss.” The last part was said in a resigned voice, but Seunghyun brushed it off. “What is this all about?”
“We're going to surprise the Youth Division. Thought you might want to go with us,” Seunghyun replied with a shrug. “And I want to go shopping for Seungri's wardrobe. He can't be seen with me like he is now.”
Seungri scoffed and Youngbae nodded his head. “Dressing the kid up like a doll? I like.” He steppe away from the door and motioned them in. “Come in as I get ready.”
“Wear something suitable,” Seunghyun told him with a stern look. “I don't want to be seen with a wannabe kangpae(1).”
Seungri giggled and Youngbae rolled his eyes. “I'll try not too, boss.”
Seunghyun and Seungri both sat on the couch as Youngbae went off to change his clothes. Slowly, Seungri began to speak.
“I feel like Youngbae may like me,” he muttered without looking at Seunghyun.
“He does,” Seunghyun replied straight-laced.
“No, I mean, really like me.”
“He does.”
“Oh.”
Seunghyun chuckled and nodded his head. “He told me yesterday after we dropped you and Daesung off. Said that you had adorable eyes.” Seunghyun looked over at Seungri and saw the blush cover his face.
“And you're okay with it?”
“What? A guy liking a guy?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
“I'm chasing after a guy myself, so I can't really say much on the subject, now can I?” Seungri looked up with wide eyes and stared.
“You're after someone?” he asked. After Seunghyun's nod, he implored. “Does he know you're a gang leader?”
“I don't think so. Acted pretty innocent on our first date, so I don't think so. But one can never be sure. So, do I have more cool points?”
Seungri nodded and smiled. “More than any body else.”
“What are you guys talking about?” The two looked up to see Youngbae standing there in a black suit with a wide brim hat.
“You almost have as many cool points as Seunghyun-boss,” Seungri answered. “Almost, but not quite.”
“Cool points?” Youngbae asked, but didn't delve any further.
“Let's go,” Seunghyun told them as he got up. “After visiting Heechul, I want to see the Business Division also, before the day is up. And we still need to go shopping.”
The two others nodded and Seunghyun moved to the door. Once outside, he unlocked his car and looked back at Youngbae and Seungri with a smirk. “Both of you will sit in the back, won't you?” he asked.
“Of course,” Seungri replied with an almost smirk, quickly catching on. Youngbae looked between the two, almost confused.
“What's going on?” he asked his boss with a knowing look. “Is this about that?”
“It's about whatever you want it to be,” Seunghyun mused as he got into the car. He heard Seungri giggle just before he closed the door, but it continued when they opened it.
“Should I be fearing my life?” he asked his boss, but Seunghyun just hummed in reply. “I should, shouldn't I?”
Seunghyun revved up the car and started to drive. “To Heechul's!” he announced, but there was no reply from the back. Taking a look to his rearview mirror, he smiled to himself. He saw that Seungri had sat in the middle seat so as to crowd Youngbae. His arm was wound tightly around one of Youngbae's and he leaned in very closely.
The drive came to stop in a shady looking district and Seunghyun made sure to lock his doors. He had parked in fron of some unnamed shop, similar to the one that the Street Division had inhabited.
“Isn't Mina the Division Leader of the Youth Division?” Seungri asked, arm still wrapped around Youngbae's arm.
“She is, but her second in command is Heechul, and he does most of the work. You'll meet him soon enough,” Seunghyun explained with a shrug. He walked over to the main door and knocked. “Mina's never here, anyway.”
“I was wondering,” Youngbae started, but was interrupted when the door opened.
“Who are you?” a rowdy looking teen asked from the other side.
“A friend of Heechul's,” Seunghyun replied without missing a beat.
The boy looked Seunghyun up and down speculatively and then Youngbae and Seungri. With a slow nod, he moved from the door and allowed them inside. “Come in,” he welcomed them. He closed the door after Youngbae and Seungri and moved over. “Boss!”
They all stood in a lounge and three others were on the couch. Seunghyun recognized only one; Hangeng. He was a brute of a man who wore sunglasses. Sort of like Heechul's favorite pet.
“Seunghyun-boss,” a voice called from another door and Seunghyun moved to look at Heechul.
“Heechul,” he greeted in return. “So nice to see that someone is taking care of this area, still.”
Heechul had his hair pulled back in a ponytail and casual clothing on. “So nice to see that someone of higher power than me has the idea to check up on this place,” he replied. Seunghyun knew it was meant to be a jab at Mina, but he stayed silent on that matter.
“Seungri, I'd like you to meet the second in command of the Youth Division, Heechul. Heechul,, this is Seungri, my newest addition.” They both bowed to each other and Seunghyun smiled to himself. “And you know Youngbae,”' he said as he pointed to his own second in command. Another set of bows and the introductions were over.
“I must ask, Seunghyun boss, what brings you here?”
“Just a surprise visit,” Seunghyun said truthfully as he smiled. “Were you at the funeral?” he asked.
“I was helping the family with it in the background, so I'm sorry if you didn't see me there,” Heechul explained and Seunghyun smiled with a nod.
“As long as you were there.”
Talk continued on, but before long, noon set in and Seungri complained about being hungry. With a few parting words, they left the building and were back on the car.
“What did you both think of Heechul?” Seunghun asked as they began driving.
“I expected him to be like Mina, but he wasn't,” Seungri replied. It seemed that his new favorite spot was next to Youngbae on his arm. It made Seunghyun happy to see Youngbae so happy.
“He's ready for it,” Youngbae said in answer to the question. “From the way he took over Mina's work already, he's more than ready for it.”
“I'll have to arrange it so that she's silent, then,” Seunghyun muttered.
“Silent?” Seungri asked.
“Mina,” Seunghyun explained. “I didn't feel that giving her position to Heechul was a good idea, because he was so young, but it's obvious he can handle it. I just have to find a way to get rid of her. If I just cut her off, she'll go talk to other gangs. I need to silent her.”
“L-like, kill her?” Seungri asked.
“Precisely,” the man replied. “It's the only real way to do it.”
They settled back into a silence that Seunghyun was appreciative of. He pulled into a parking lot and they got out. “Where are we?” Seungri asked.
“A small cafe I like to frequent,” Seunghyun replied. “Let's go in.”
They were seated for three and their waitress moved towards them. “What would you like to drink?” she asked, pen to paper.
“Coffee, black,” Seunghyun replied.
“Water,” Youngbae said with a noncommittal wave.
“Banana milk shake,” Seungri ordered with a large grin.
“This will all be out soon,” she replied as she left.
“Youngbae, you wanted to say something earlier when we were just about to go into Heechul's. What was it?” Seunghyun asked when his coffee came out.
“Oh, that,” Youngbae replied with a sip of his own water. “I wanted to know how your pursuit of Jiyong went.”
“We went on a date yesterday,” Seunghyun said with a small smile. “I caught him at some burger shop and we went to a movie and a date from there. It was nice.”
“So you have his number?” Youngbae asked.
Sunghyun shook his head before taking a slow sip of his hot coffee. “He has mine, though.”
Seungri's face brightened immensely when his banana milk shake was brought out. Seunghyun caught the look Youngbae sported as he looked at the young boy with adoration. “This is delicious!”Seungri exclaimed after taking a sip. “Here, try some,” he offered to Youngbae. The man nodded as he leaned forward and took a tentative sip.
“It is good,” he murmured. Seunghyun shook his head when Seungri offered him some. Let them have their moment,” he thought to himself. Suddenly, his phone rand and he rushed to get it out.
The caller idea showed some unknown number and excitement tore through him. He slid the phone open and hel it to his ear.
“Hello?” he answered.
“Seunghyun!” Jiyong's vice came over the line. “I'm so glad you answered!”
“Oh?” Seunghyun asked. His eyes strayed over to Youngbae, who watched him closely, and Seungri, who just enjoyed his milk shake. “For any particular reason?”
“To hear your voice?” Jiyong more than asked. “Is now a good time?”
“Anytime is a good time when you call,” Seunghyun answered with a smile.
“Cheesy,” the other muttered into the phone. “I was just curious if you were watching the news.”
“I wasn't,” he replied. “Why, is there something important? Jiyong gave a nervous chuckled before answering.
“She's been killed.”
“Oh?” The situation went form bad to good in half of a heartbeat. This resolved many problems for him. The dirty work.
“They say there was also a message left at the scene of the crime. Something about a... 'GD'?”
Seunghyun spluttered and he smiled. “That killer. I'm not sure if he's an enemy or a friend, at some moments,” he mused. “Thanks for telling me, Jiyong.”
“No problem!”
“So, how about that second date?” he asked.
“To rush so boldly after I tell you one of your friends have died,” Jiyong muttered.
“Not a friend, barely an acquaintance.”
“Fine, our second date can be tomorrow. Meet me at the blue fountain at the West mall, okay? Tomorrow at ten.”
“I can do that. I'll be waiting for that moment,” Seunghyun answered.
“Smooth talker,” Jiyong murmured before hanging up. Seunghyun slid his phone shut and smiled.
“I have a date tomorrow,” he announced.
“Is that why he called?” Youngbae asked.
“No, he had wanted to know if I was watching the news at the moment. He brought good fortune upon us, boys.”
“Oh?” Seungri asked from his empty glass. He put the glass on the table and looked at Seunghyun. “Other than another date?”
“Yes,” Seunghyun replied. His smile seemed permanent now and he didn't mind. “Mina has been dealt with.”
“Killed?” Seungri asked. “How?”
“GD.”
There was a silence before Youngbae started to laugh. “That's what you were talking about? Kilers being friends or enemies?”
Seunghyun nodded his head and took another sip of his now rapidly cooling coffee. “All we have left now is to protect Seungri from any potential death and we're all happy,” he announced. “Well, I am.”
“You have a date with Jiyong, of course you're happy,” Youngbae muttered.
*~*
“What a pleasure,” Donghae muttered from where he sat behind his large desk. His comment was obviously sarcastic as he looked at the three men in front of him with a cold and calculating gaze.
“Don't look at me like that,” Seunghyun warned from where he sat in one of the guest chairs. Youngbae took the other and Seungri had taken to wrapping his arms around Youngbae from behind him.
“Then how should I look at you?”
“With respect,” Seunghyun replied.
Donghae let out a bark of laughter and he shook his head. “You're funny, Seunghyun-boss,” he replied with a shake of his head. He pulled out a folder and handed it to his boss. “Here's this month's assessment.”
“One of the most organized divisions,” Seunghyun explained to Seungri. “Every month they have one of these ready. It's perfect and up to date. Just what I need.” He flipped through it and decided to look over it later at home.
“Now, if you'll kindly leave,” Donghae said as he stood up.
“I know when we're not wanted,” Seunghyun waved of as he stood up. “We'll leave.”
*~*
Seunghyun lay the folder he had gotten from Donghae next to the one on the killer GD. He had been too tired to go shopping with Seungri and Youngbae, and he really just wanted to give them time together. Sitting down on his couch, he began to look through GD's file. Tonight seemed it would be a long night.
