Previous Chapter(s): Chapter 1--Chapter 2--Chapter 3

Jiyong felt his hand sting from where he had slapped Seunghyun, but he didn't pay it any mind. The pain from seeing Seunghyun again was worse than any pain.

You left me. You left me. You left me. You hurt me. Youleft me. You leftme. Youhurtme. The thoughts were rushing through his head and they ran together, stopping him from thinking anything else. The way his eyes watered didn't help wither.

But then Seunghyun went and made everything better, making Jiyong smile again. He always did that. Why did he do that? Such a sap.

\+-+-+/

He had ordered a pickpocket to steal the bracelet off of Seunghyun and destroy it, which was all fine, but then Seunghyun had to go say something sappy. Something about “never letting him go” or some shit.

But it made him smile again. Sap.

\+-+-+/

The subtle hints Seunghyun dropped on Jiyong about sex didn't go unnoticed. But nothing ever did, really. Not when Seunghyun was involved. The little things he did, like motion with his wrist or adding milk to his coffee, were all little signs that Seunghyun had trained Jiyong to read.

Adding milk to coffee meant that no one was listening. Saying that he wanted to have sex was just another way to say that he wanted to have a private talk. There were little things like that. But then Seunghyun did something unexpectedly expected.

Like poison him.

And everything was going so well, too.

\+-+-+/

It was that second dirty cop. The one that Seunghyun didn't know, but Jiyong did. He had let it “slip” that maybe Jiyong and Seunghyun were still alive. There was a rush around the station about two dirty cops, but no one could point to Youngbae. He was just too clean. Too good.

And so Dongwook ordered that Seunghyun finish his job. In return, Seunghyun could walk free. Seunghyun didn't honestly believe the man about his claims, but he had no other choice. Either he could turn Jiyong in, or they would kill both Jiyong and him. No questions would be asked. Actually, Seunghyun was curious as to why that hadn't happened anyway.

Youngbae said that it was now just one big mess. With so many murders in the air, Dongwook wouldn't last long in his position. Seunghyun knew he was right, but there was nothing he could do about it. He could follow the orders or rebel. And Rebelling meant death, no matter the path taken.

\+-+-+/

Seunghyun pulled the body close to him and closed his eyes.

Pain.

It hurt. More than anything.

In a few moments the police would come in here, asking why Jiyong was dead. And really, there was only one selfish reason.

If he couldn't keep him, no one could have him.

The people that were in the next room over must have realized that something was wrong. Why was there a dead body? Why did the conversation stop?

His door was rammed in and people started yelling at him. Asking about the death. Asking about Jiyong. Was he alive? Was he breathing?

No, he wasn't breathing.

Carefully, Seunghyun stood up, letting Jiyong's body slump against his legs. He looked back and stared at the police officers. Smiling a twisted smile, he shook his head.

“He'll be dead by now,” he replied. “The poison wouldn't have taken long. Coupled with the wine, he'll look alive, but he won't be. Just fresh.” He stopped here to look at each officer individually before letting out the most twisted laugh he could manage. “But that won't stop you from opening him up and checking, will it?”

There were choked words as Youngbae pushed his way through the officers. “What the fuck happened?”

“Dongwook,” Seunghyun replied. “I either killed Ji or I turned him in.” He didn't need to explain which choice he had chosen. Instead, he watched as two men in white suits walked over and placed Jiyong in a body bag atop a stretcher.

“I'm going to kill that bastard,” Youngbae growled.

Not if I don't kill him first. Seunghyun wanted to say it out loud, but he didn't want to chance the wrong people hearing it. He kept silent and watched as two men motioned for him to follow them. Probably off to the station.

“I'm sorry, Seunghyun,” Youngbae whispered as Seunghyun passed by.

“So am I,” Seunghyun replied.

The trip to the station was quick and Seunghyun was let free with a “stern warning” to not kill anyone again. It made him laugh to think that Dongwook really cared. He knew that Dongwook would find him later. Imprison him on some petty charge again. It wasn't hard to figure it out. Seunghyun just had to do something before that time came.

An hour later he finally got what he was waiting for.

“Seunghyun?” He smiled into the phone and nodded his head.

“Yeah?”

“Are you seriously okay?”

“I'm fine, Youngbae,” he replied. “But a little peeved.”

“A little?”

“I might commit murder by the end of the week.”

“But I thought-”

“Thought what?”

“Oh.”

“Anything else?” Seunghyun asked, giving a smile to the cashier who took his coffee order.

“N-no, I'm good for now. I'll call back later.”

“Alright.” Seunghyun closed his phone and took his coffee to a table to sit down.

The coffee shop he was at was a quaint little one. It was a bakery, too, but Seunghyun didn't really care for cake at the moment.

“I don't trust you,” a voice called from behind Seunghyun. Turning, he saw Seungri standing with a tray of freshly baked cookies.

“That's safer for you,” Seunghyun replied.

“But Jiyong wanted me to trust you. What should I do?”

Seunghyun let a real smile slip onto his lips before he nodded his head for the boy to sit down across from him. “I say,” he began once Seungri sat down, “that you should stay with me tonight. Well, let me stay with you. The police have taken my apartment hostage, so I have no where to stay.”

“I live with Daesung as a roommate.”

“All the better,” Seunghyun replied vaguely.

“And I'm not sleeping with you.”

“I don't expect to be sleeping tonight.”

“I'm not having sex with you.”

Seunghyun let out a short laugh and nodded his head. “Pity, but I wasn't expecting you to.”

“Then what-”

“Later.”

Seungri stood up with his tray of cookies and nodded his head. “You know where I live. Daesung should be there, so just walk in. Don't worry about his personal space or time. Privacy is nothing in that apartment. I'll ask you all the questions I have later.”

As Seungri walked away, Seunghyun let himself smile. He liked Seungri from what he could tell right now. He always had. There was just something about the younger boy that made him smile unintentionally. Almost like Jiyong.

Seunghyun stood up and threw his mostly full cup of coffee away. He hadn't really wanted to drink it. He actually wanted a chicken sandwich. But Seungri worked at a bakery, not a fast food place.

Sighing, he left the cafe and started to make his way towards Seungri's apartment. All he had to do now was wait. Wait with Daesung impatiently for the night to come. Never before was he this mad. This furious.

“He's been eating all of your food.”

Seunghyun chuckled from where he sat in the kitchen eating a cupcake. His mood had been raised when he and Daesung spoke about Seungri and Jiyong's similarities. Daesung didn't seem to mind not asking questions, but Seungri had opened the door asking questions.

“What do you mean all of my food?” Seungri asked. He held a box of what looked like cake and Seunghyun got up to take it from him.

“Like that,” Daesung said with a shrug.

“You said I could ask questions, so answer.”

Seunghyun thought back to what Seungri had asked as he walked in, but he couldn't think of what had been asked.

“Why is Jiyong dead?” Seungri asked, seeing the look of confusion on Seunghyun's face. “And why did I have to hear through Youngbae before I heard through you?”

“Youngbae called you, then?” he asked. He nodded his head as he got his story settled. “Well, honestly, I had to kill Jiyong.”

“No you didn't!” Seunghyun winced at Seungri's outburst and Daesung closed his eyes. “You didn't have to kill him! You could have killed off the whole of the Force before you killed him! I thought you loved him!”

Seunghyun's vision went red for a moment before he calmed himself down. “I still love him,” Seunghyun muttered, though more to himself than to Seungri. Louder, he continued. “I had to because otherwise they would have killed him for me. Then they would have killed me.”

“So you chose the cowardly way out?” Seungri seethed.

“Seungri!” Daesung reprimanded. “Let him finish. There has to be more.”

“There isn't.” Seungri and Daesung both stared at Seunghyun when he confessed. “That's exactly what I did. Take the coward's way out. I could have killed both of us. Or kept fighting. But I didn't. I let myself lose what I most cherished in this life. For what? Freedom? I know I won't get it here. It wasn't for love. It wasn't for money. It was selfishness. I wanted him. I wanted to be the only one to ever have him. But I wasn't. So I killed him. Forever mine.”

There was silence before Seungri tore out of the room. Daesung was torn as to whether to stay with Seunghyun or to follow after Seungri. Eventually, he chose Seungri, leaving Seunghyun alone in the kitchen.

He needed to get himself together. Tonight was it. If he messed up tonight, there was no going back. He closed his eyes and imagined Jiyong's face. His smile. Everything that Seunghyun had fallen in love with.

But all he could see was the betrayal on Jiyong's face as he died. The confusion and the hurt as he fell to the ground, clutching Seunghyun's arm.

Seunghyun clenched his eyes shut and pushed the emotion down. It wouldn't do good to keep thinking this way. He needed to plan. Concentrate. Breathing in and out slowly, he finally had his emotions under control.

He pulled out his phone and dialed the well memorized number. The rings pierced the empty stillness before Youngbae answered.

“Hello?”

“Jiyong had five main groups. I'm taking arms tonight. Attacking the Force. So stay home. Call sick. Anything to stay away from the fight. Can you do that?”

“Of course,” Youngbae answered immediately. “Just be safe. Jiyong would have hated if you got hurt for him.”

“I know. Thanks for everything, by the way. I don't think I've said that to you before. So thank you.”

“It's been a pleasure.”

Daesung stuck his head into the kitchen just as Seunghyun hung up his phone. “Anything I can do?” he asked.

“Gather.” Seunghyun pulled a set of keys from his pocket and placed them on the table. “All of Jiyong's men that he had. I know it wasn't much, but it was more than I had expected. Go to the warehouse on the crossing of Chunsun and 12th. You should be able to get in with these keys. There you need to distribute the weapons inside. Open a fanfare on this city. Any and all enemies.”

“You're insane.”

Seunghyun smirked up at Daesung and nodded. “Why did you think Jiyong fell in love with me?”

Daesung slowly took the keys off the table, staring at Seunghyun all the while.

“We'll all die.”

“What's there to live for?”

Daesung was silent on this and Seunghyun knew that he had won him over. “What time?”

“Midnight. When all the families are at home asleep. Hit clubs first. Kill only enemies. Branch out from there.”

“Yes sir,” Daesung whispered with a nod.

The cold metal felt comfortable in Seunghyun's hands once again. There was a light he was focusing on in the police station that would go out soon. When it did, he would move.

The gun in his hand was silver, his signature gun. Jiyong had given it to him when he was younger. When they first kissed, he remembered. It was a night like this. Full moon with no wind. Seunghyun felt the emotion rise back up again, but pushed it down in favor of focus.

The light went out and Seunghyun moved so that he could follow the man that left the building. As expected, Dongwook closed the door to his office and left the station, waving at those still on duty. Seunghyun followed him silently and made sure that Dongwook would know that he was being followed.

Finally, Dongwook turned into an alley and Seunghyun followed openly.

“Are you here to kill me?” the man asked. “I thought you might want to, after what you pulled today.”

Seunghyun wanted to say something-so many things-but kept silent still. Lifting his gun, he made sure to aim at Dongwook's head.

“A gun?” Dongwook asked. “I thought you might go for something more creative.” His voice held a laugh to it that Seunghyun wanted to be rid of. But he couldn't do anything yet. He had to wait. To wait patiently for the sound.

The first scream came, then the second. Dongwook looked around worriedly, then looked up at Seunghyun. “What was that?” he asked.

“Screams,” Seunghyun replied, a hint of malice in his voice. “Your men at the station are dying. I made sure that you could still hear them.”

Dongwook's face darkened and his hand went to where his gun rest. “How considerate,” he growled. “I should thank you for that.”

Dongwook's next move was too fast for Seunghyun to comprehend, but Seunghyun shot his gun just as it happened. A bullet left his gun to enter Dongwook's head, but Dongwook by then had already shot his own bullet.

It wasn't aimed well, from what Seunghyun could tell. But it hit. Right in his chest. Well, shoulder, to be exact, but he didn't need to be right now.

He fell to his knees then. The blood from his wound pooled around him and he could almost not feel the pain. There was a whisper of warmth and fingers on the back of his neck. Almost as if someone was caressing him. But who would want to?

His vision blackened at the edges and he knew his time was running out. He remembered, just as he completely blacked out, that he was flipped over. His eyes were filled with the sight of an angel. Or was it Jiyong? They were the same to him. It didn't matter.

“I want to go to Hawaii.”

“Then I'll take you there.”

“You can't promise that!”

“Yes I can! We'll become rich and famous, one day. And when we do, we'll buy a nice house in Hawaii and live there. How does that sound?”

“Like a dream. A far-fetched dream.”

“A goal.”

“Fine, a goal. We'll grow up and become rich. Then move to Hawaii. Do you promise?”

“Yes.”

“Pinky promise?”

“Pinky promise.”

“Good. I love you!”

\+-+-+/

“Wake up!”

Seunghyun's eyes opened and he groaned the world hated him. He was still alive. And why the hell was it so bright.

“Wah, I didn't think that would actually work! Seungri! Look! He's awake!”

He blinked a couple of times, but no matter what he did, the voice that spoke didn't change. Not that he thought it would. Blinking didn't help the hearing.

Slowly, Seunghyun realized that he was indeed staring up at Jiyong.

“I'm dead.”

“Hardly,” Jiyong replied with a pout. “Well, I hope not. I spent a lot of money on you if you're dead.”

Seunghyun looked around at where he was, but all he could tell was that he was in a hospital room. “Where am I?” he asked. “Why am I alive? Why are you alive?”

“I saved you,” Jiyong replied matter-of-factly. “And Youngbae saved me.”

“What happened?”

“Just after the paramedics took me, Youngbae came to the morgue with my stuff. I woke up, got ready, stayed with him, then followed you at night.”

“But I poisoned you,” Seunghyun pointed out.

“And I took the counter before dinner. You're horribly easy to read.”

“Counter?”

“I saw that you bought the poison a few days before dinner. I figured what kind it was and bought the counter. Before each meal with you, I took some. Of course, I didn't take enough, it seems. I still pretty much died at the dinner, but a few hours of near death later, I was fine. I love you.”

“That was sudden,” Seunghyun muttered. “But I love you too. Now, where are we?”

“Hawaii!”

There was a moment when Seunghyun didn't know what to do or say. Instead, he laughed. Leaning up a bit, he grabbed Jiyong behind the neck and pulled him down for a kiss. “I love you.”
