Britta fucking loved this party. She honestly hadn't thought there'd be a party, even though people had said it happened every year, and she really hadn't thought it would be even remotely awesome, but it was. Okay, so she liked the dancing and the music and all, but she was pretty sure that everyone who came to this thing had to be here for the food and drinks, because when else did they get this stuff? No way did people show up for the dancing and the music and the company when they could have that part of things any other day of the year. (Not that she hadn't put on a cute dress for the occasion anyway - black, of course - but that was beside the point.)

For her part, Britta wasn't wasting any time. She was alternating between loads of junk food she would probably regret in the morning but had no intention of missing out on and all kinds of drinks. And there were so many drinks: imported European beers and martinis and brightly colored things the names of which she didn't know but which she was pretty sure were not Seussian in origin. She'd kind of had a lot of them already, which was a major point in this party's favor. It wasn't like she couldn't get totally trashed on the local brews if she felt like it, but while that stuff wasn't bad, this was so much better. She'd still call it lame if asked, but that didn't mean she couldn't have some fun.

She'd lost count when she spotted a familiar face nearby and headed over, threading her way through the crowd with a drink in hand. "Hey!"
