Britta could deal with weird. The changing landscape, the changing houses, the changing weather - okay, she got it, the place was bizarre and she was hostage here and everything was all crazy and nothing stayed the same. Fine, whatever, message received. But her house was pink now and there was a lot of glitter stuff on it and she was sort of ( Read more... )

So the island was covered in snow now and looked like something out of a Christmas special. He spent some of the morning gawking at what used to be a normal hut (pink? seriously?) and the rest fighting with the clothes box to give him something that didn't have happy looking snowmen on them. The box won out - it always did - and Jeff was in a considerably bad mood because of it as he left the Compound wearing a festive, decorated red sweater. "Well, don't expect me to sneak you slices of whatever the hell it is they're serving in there," Britta deadpanned. "I'll be hiding here. Maybe we should stock up on candy canes and hot cocoa to survive the siege. Is it really that bad up there?" "Like the huts, but worse," he replied. He actually did recognize the layout, especially after spotting how the table looked now in the kitchen - he was a kid once, after all. How insane it was kept him from saying it outloud. Suffice to say, if he saw a green furry man walking around, he wasn't sure how he was going to react. "I think this place has a thing against angles or something."

"Oh my god, right?" Britta asked, gesturing with both arms, the errant strand of tinsel forgotten for the moment. "It's kind of freaking me out. There are supposed to be corners and, and lines." Things were meant to have straight edge. Things were supposed to get sharp occasionally. Britta had trouble reconciling a world with so few perfectly flat planes in it. The fact that the ground didn't slant here was weirdly reassuring. "Is it seriously supposed to be like this for a month? Snow and everything all... round? And pink."
