I used to have a notebook (still do, somewhere) that I would discover in my room about once a year when I was cleaning my room.  It started as a journal when I was in middle school, though I abandoned it sometime in the middle of seventh grade.  Sometime in eighth grade I found it under my bed somewhere and wrote a quick entry with an update in my life.  I then 'organized' it into a pile that once again got buried until a year later, approximately, I wrote another entry in it.  This continued - has continued - since then.

Each entry seemed to start with "so it's been a while..."

This journal seems to follow the same format.  Every once in a while I remember that I should be updating it and so I do.  And I almost always want to start it with "so it's been a while..."

But really, it has.

Life here has been slow paced despite the fight to get everything wrapped up before coming home.   But the furniture is sold, our hotel room has been booked for the day before we fly out, and we are almost settled.  I still have to plan a trip to the Black Forest, though without a car this will be difficult.  Public transportation throughout Germany is generally fantastic, but where we want to go is in the heart of woods and mountains, so not all that much PT goes there.  Maybe a bus.  If that can't work out, perhaps we'll see where else we can go from Mannheim.
