Hi Kwanboa,

Good morning.

Thanks very much for responding. And before i go on, i'll again say that this is new to me. And in hindsight i would've reworded my original request for assistance. As it came off as not being objective.

"Search obituaries where he was purported to live. Search the Social Security Death Index. Search the name of the company he reportedly worked for that arranged all this shit. Call them and ask where to send condolence flowers and mention his name."

Actually i did search search local obituaries via the internet. As we do know where he was purported to live for many years. It yielded nothing.

I did NOT pay $$$ for access to what i understand to be the only official online access to the "Social Sec Death Index." But i did use the freebie equivalent. A geneology website. Found nothing.

I did not search the alleged company as it's a very generic name -- ie "Green Hills" -- and there are million companies with the same name. Plus this fellow is long retired.

I was considering calling the residence of the faker. But before i had the chance someone posted publicly about the idea of a "pseuicide." And i believe that he now knows that some of us are on to him.

But before someone made public mention of the possibility of a scam this guy was actually dumb enough to give himself away. Meaning two days after the alleged death someone (whom i'm 99.9% sure to be his alive and well self) logged in to our forum as him from his IP address.

Our forum software has a "Hide from 'who's online'" function -- make yourself invisible, so to speak. And I would argue that he thought that this "invisible" function would make him undetectible to MODERATORS as well as regular users.

"This is not hard to figure out."

Yes and no.

This whole thing is painfully obvious to some. Easy to figure out.

But without rock hard, conclusive evidence it's hard to explain to others. I would imagine that verifying an actual death could be very easy. But fully debunking a fake death to everyone's satisfaction can be difficult.

I believe that most all folks will eventually figure it out, "time will tell." But i'd just rather that this come sooner instead of later.

thanks again,

ThirdA

Hi Kwanboa,

As i do claim to be a moderator i'll also claim that i don't wish start a pissing contest on someone else's forum. Or i should probably say "another pissing contest." resurrect a pissing match from the dead.

But that's actually one of nicer things that's been said to me, here.

regards,
