Dawn's early light...

I was up early today. Not by choice. The phone rang at 5:33. I heard part of the message - a woman's official sort of voice, and a phone number. I thought it must be a call about my father, who is ill in a hospital in British Columbia. So I found my crutches and my aircast and hobbled into the living room, only to learn that someone wants someone ( Read more... )

My thoughts are with you. I hadn't known your father was ill. If this is the reason I haven't been able to get you on the phone today... well, my thoughts are with you.

I was awakened early, too. By shoulder pain. I got myself up to walk around a little, trying to dissipate the edge of it, and ended up getting my phone and calling you. That would have been about 10:30 AM. Stop laughing. For a night-shift-type person, that IS SO "early"!

I hadn't known your father was ill.

I haven't talked about it.

No, that has nothing to do with why I haven't been getting the phone. When you've called I've been either out, exercising, or asleep. Or down in the basement doing laundry. I used the stationary bicyle today - yay me!

I figured it was just bad timing. Four times. And I was right.

Laundry? Whoo!

Stationary bike? Whoo!!! Like unto a gazelle you are [g].

I was just in a lot of pain and trying to reach for some human contact, that day. It was a pretty bad day, yup.

Guess it's about time to close off and head for home again. Gonna be home this evening? [snicker] Keep up the regimen! You're awesome.

I'm trying to be awesome, is a sort faltering kind of way. Working on it.

Physio tomorrow, and then a week without it. I'm going to miss it. Really.

Sigh. I too have been getting up early for work for the past 2 weeks (though more like 6:30 am than 5:30 am) and am usually pretty much wiped by the time I get home 12 hours later.

I'm hoping that I don't wind up with a shift starting that early in the day. Like it or not, I'm just *not* a morning person. Sigh.

I don't mind working early shifts; I can't handle late shifts, not so much because I get tired at night but because I have trouble getting things done at home in the morning. And I have trouble sleeping late.

So I hope my hours don't change; I'm very happy with what I have. Or what I had, a few months ago when I was working.
