Two movies and John Barrowman on radio...

The radio thing of course was John Barrowman on the Elaine Paige show on BBC radio 2 for the second week in a row. Again, I loved it. I love the showtunes - that goes without saying - but I get a special fannish kick out of hearing John Barrowman and knowing I'm hearing him in real time.

While I listened, I made breakfast for maaseru and maaboroshi. Logan flew ( Read more... )

I've loved The Wedding Banquet for years -- bought it on pro video years ago. It's one of my all-time favorites that I watch every year or so.

I was delighted to finally get to see "The Wedding Banquet" - all the more since it was as good as I'd heard.

Sounds a most pleasant day!
And I hope the curtains were tasty for Logan!

Judging by the cheeky smile on his beak, the curtains were delicious. Yes, the day was fun. Now it's Monday morning and no more fun for a while... (except stolen moments for LJ!)

Aw! Wee treasure that he is!
Have you had any further thoughts re: some feathered company for him?

Yes, I really do plan to get more feathered company for him - soon, I hope.

He has developed some pretty blue feathers on the sides of his neck. I just noticed them yesterday.

Also long a fan of "Wedding Banquet." I've seen everything Wang Lee has made, including "The Chosen," made for the BMW series with Clive Owen.

WB is possibly the best in the "marries for a green card" genre that includes the 1990 "Green Card" and the 1989 "Paper Wedding" that was made for Canadian TV but is available on video. I really like the latter as well.

Thanks for mentioning "The Chosen" - and the link! Cool. I didn't know about it.

I didn't know "Paper Wedding" but will look for it.

I really liked "Green Card", and after seeing "The Wedding Banquet", wast thinking of watching it again. Thie "marries for a green card" genre seems to have been a brief fashion of the late eighties/early nineties - seems to me it still has potential!
