1. Do we have to think in terms of a renumbering? It looks as though John Hurt regenerates into Christopher Ecclestone, which is in any case the only possible point as we saw all the previous regenerations and Christopher Ecclestone is the first one showing guilt. There's also reference to needing thirteen TARDISes, and then we get a shot of Peter Capaldi's eyes.
7. That's what they were called in my early childhood.
12. He always was enigmatic, ambiguous and just plain weird. I'm very happy with the ambiguity of "perhaps he was the Doctor, but maybe not because we saw him regenerate"
I have mixed feelings about Clara; I think she's utterly personable, but has no personality. Yes. This.
7. That's what we always called them in NZ and I think the UK is the same. Shoes with a canvas upper, rubber soles and with no (or very little) foot support. I'm not sure why they're called sandshoes; we always wore jandals at the beach. Wikipedia is less than helpful, merely advising that they were originally called sandshoes and then in the 1870s acquiring the name 'Plimsolls' in addition.

Sandshoes: we called them that when I was at school. Canvas top, rubber soles.
