The death of Gwen Stacey.
Another case in which I'll never forget the day it came out. I was working as a sandwich-maker at Fat Albert's, and a number of us were Marvel fans. The day it came out, we ran over to the magazine shop across the street to get the new issue of Spider-Man - and we were shocked and astounded. It was a good day in comics fandom - well, for me, anyway.
You'd think I didn't like Gwen. I did. But it was a terrific story that stayed with me.
