Well, that was a bloody one, wasn't it? It's a while since I've had to watch half a Supernatural episode with my eyes closed.
This is not a complaint, since they seem to be back in their groove. Or something. And Team Free Will isn't doing so well emotionally.
- Oh Dean, Dean, Dean. I totally loved the last scene, Dean lost and desperate because of Sam's pain, praying for help. Wonderful stuff.
- And Sam! Loved the whole "will he or won't he" thing with the drinking demon blood; thought it was beautifully handled.
- Famine was scary.
- Seeing Sam exorcise all those demons, after he drank the blood - woo. Powerful. Especially having Dean see it. And when he exorcised Famine - well, that was the kind of powerful scene, concept and execution that this show does at its best. Upping the stakes.
- Castiel isn't quite the figure of comedy he was, but I'm beginning to think we'll only see him to discover how he is sidelined each time. I loved it that his weakness - his desire - was a love of hamburgers, Dean's old weakness.
- Loved the use of Castiel and the telephone. "I'm here. I'm hanging up now."
- Cupid was silly. I thought he was going to be like Trickster, but no, he was only the opening act.
- It looks as if the story is gaining momentum again. I hope so.
