Pouring rain all day. The morning went awry: nothing went as planned. But I crammed a lot into it. A load of laundry. Dishwashing. Defragging, virus-checking, and spybotting my computer. Vacuuming. Sorting out storage in one of my closets.
Then Beulah came over, and we did Tai Chi together, concentrating on the first seventeen moves: can I list them without resorting to my notes? Commencement, Left Grasps Bird's Tail, Grasp Bird's Tail, Whip to One Side, Step Up and Raise Hands, White Stork Spreads Wings, Brush Knee (fun), Strum the Pei Pa, Brush Knee and Twist Step (Left), Brush Knee and Twist Step (Right), Brush Knee (Left), Strum the Pei Pa, Brush Knee and Twist Step (Left), Chop With Fist, Step up, Deflect, Parry, Punch, Appear to Close Entrance, and Cross Hands. Is that seventeen? I think so. The last few movements there are my favourite sequence of all. Beulah also took me through the points of Carry Tiger to Mountain but it still confuses me. The earlier stuff... it's getting easier. And the more I come to know it, the more I enjoy it.
She drove me to Harry's place. Sheila was at a businesswomen's conference all day, and I said I'd visit to keep Harry company. It was fun, though it was also distressing to see him so ill, weak and drawn. We watched an episode of CSI Miami, which I have never seen before. I was not impressed, though I did enjoy the plots as a puzzle-piece. There wasn't much characterization and not all the logic involved made sense; in fact, there were bits of plot that weren't even possible.
Then we watched two and three-quarters episodes of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and that was a lot of fun. I had to leave before the end of the last one, though, as Sheila came to pick me up, give me a half-shipment of Kinnie (swoon) and my birthday present: a card-reader for my new digital camera.
Home again, I joined
maaseru and
maaboroshi for supper and we watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show on TV. What fun that movie still is.
