Transmission 009 - Moral Dilemmas of Science.

[Faize is sitting by the lake, watching the reflections in the water. He is frowning, as if he is conflicted, and he's hiding papers with complex looking formulas in his lap. The conversation he had with Jim in this thread is making him think about home, and not in a good way ( Read more... )

[...Ruto lives here, so have her on the store. You might notice her house somewhere along the shoreline here too. It's not unusual to see people out there per se, but today she feels like making her presence known. By way of walking on over]

Can I help you?

[Oh my! That's a lifeform Faize has never seen before, but staring isn't polite. Hopefully, he's not disturbing her peace too much.]

I just came out to think, actually. Am I in a bad place?

[Ruto need to talk to more people, Still -- she is immediately pinged on his ears. Or at least what she takes to be ears. Finally, someone who is not from Hyrule with normal ears! This makes him worth talking to by default. She snorts and walks on over]

My home is that house yonder, but many comes here. Your offense is excusable.

[They're ears alright! Eldarians just take the concept of ear jewelry too far. He nods at her politely.]

I apologize for any intrusion I've made. The view here is quite beautiful. It must be quite calming to live so close to the lake.

Certainly. Lakes always seem to have that effect. [She grins a little there. WATER = one of her instantly good topic. Still, she pauses here and then--]

Though I would ask your name.

[Faize loves to talk about most anything, and is happy to see her grin.] Indeed they do.

My sincere apologies. I am Faize Sheifa Beleth. May I ask your name as well?

I am Princess Ruto of the Zora tribe. [--And I am extremely self-important as I all regally like take a seat relatively near you]

A Princess? [Self-important as she is, Faize respects that.] I suppose this is likely a step down in lifestyle for you, Princess Zora.

Very much so. [Sigh and a snort. This is a huge step down and it's terribly lonely not to be with any of her people here, but she manages. Still, she can't help but be curious about his name or more so his ears. Thus, mostly to change the topic--]

To what tribe do you belong? [...Tribe meaning species but she said that without thinking. Habit]

I am sorry to hear that. This place has its charm, but it's not fit for someone of your status. [Faize notes her discontent and feels bad for her. He has a great deal of respect for figures of authority.]

[Luckily, he gets her drift.] I am an Eldarian. The races on Eldar do not vary much, so we just constitute one 'tribe.'

Eldar... that is the land from which you hail? [Ruto still has trouble grasping the concept of "worlds" and as such she says land to not break her brain more than is needed. Still, at the mention of status and it not befitting her she does nod approvingly. Finally someone other than Sheik who agrees. ...Walter might be he doesn't say it]

It is. There's another man from Eldar here, though he doesn't talk much. Are any others here from the Zora tribe? [Faize isn't the best at not breaking brains, but he knows that Luceti can be quite a culture shock.]

No. [That's the simple answer, but she decides to clarify further with--] There is however one Sheikah and one Hylian, two other tribes from Hyrule.

[He's curious now. Faize likes learning about new civilizations!] How many tribes are there?

The Hylains, mine -- the Zora, the Gorons, the Koriki, the Guredo, and the Sheikah. ...All other creatures in Hyrule I think would be more accurately known as monsters, sans perhaps unique cases such as the Fairies.

I see. What makes the Fairies so unique?
