Transmission 009 - Moral Dilemmas of Science.

May 20, 2009 23:11

[Faize is sitting by the lake, watching the reflections in the water. He is frowning, as if he is conflicted, and he's hiding papers with complex looking formulas in his lap. The conversation he had with Jim in this thread is making him think about home, and not in a good way ( Read more... )

no red eyes thankfully, emo faize is emo, faize is sometimes retarded, faize liek technology, faize r smrt, loving a trainwreck planet, ironic irrelevance, analyzing, worst friend ever, for the love of science

[HAVE A CROWE FOR UNDISCLOSED REASONS, Y/N?]

Faize?

[What is he doing so far from town...?]

[VERY MUCH Y.]

Crowe? I didn't expect you to be out here.

I figured I'd do a bit of exploring. The open areas are good for training, as well. What are you doing here?

I'm just thinking, actually. I needed a bit of peace and quiet.

[Hiding the papers, just a little.]

[Don't think Crowe didn't notice that, Faize.]

You looked pretty intense there.

[Oh dear.]

I was thinking about home.

[You can't fool Space Batman.]

Oh... Eldar, huh. You must miss it.

[Can't fault him for trying.]

I do. I wish to know if the attempts at colonization are going well.

[Crowe frowns at that, quiet for a long moment, then crouches down and picks up a stone to skip it across the surface of the water.]

...I'm sure they're fine, Faize.

[Faize notes the silence, but isn't sure what to say about that. And then of course, Crowe has to do something cool.]

I hope that when this business with the Grigori is said and done, their attempts to find a new planet can continue unabated. I want to help them.

[Crowe shrugs his shoulders, repeating the motion in an attempt to beat his previous skip number.]

Maybe you should ask Myuria. She said the Grigori were dealt with, but I didn't ask her about the Eldarians. Last I remember, they were already well on their way to relocating.

[Ffffff, Crowe is amazing. Faize attempts to skip one, but the trajectory isn't right and it doesn't go nearly as far.]

I'll keep that in mind. She's as vague about the future as everyone is. Sometimes she has a strange look on her face if she notices me.

[He's Space Batman, gdit. He can do anything. ...Well, almost. Watch it skip like mad!]

I'm sure no one wants to upset you. A lot of what they tell you might not be something to look forward to when you go back.

[This is the kind of thing that might deflate Faize's ego if he wasn't being cosmically retarded.]

That is the impression I have gathered, and I cannot come up with a reason why. The magnitude of my fate is such that no one wants to talk about it, and talking with the others is a rare occurrence indeed. Though my impressions tell me that something terrible has happened, I do not wish to let that stop me. Perhaps there is more I can do while I am still here, so that I may affect a future I may not otherwise be a part of.

[Crowe would coach him if they weren't having a srs bzns conversation.]

Faize... you actually want to know what happens...? [Gdit Faize, he doesn't want to be the one to share the bad news D:]

[Faize will have to remember that for the future. Then again, it's not like he could use it to impress women or something.]

I... don't know. While I am honored and grateful that you would tell me, I am not sure what good it could do. I could plan around what happens, but what if it isn't possible? What if I close off possibilities by knowing my future fate?
