Ahem...
So I'm looking at buying this bus... The passenger seats are already stripped out, it's been confirmed to fit a double bed, and it comes with a book (on converting? Probably...)
There's this house, this gorgeous old house, that I pass quite regularly. I've often admired this house from afar, wondering just what it was like on the other side of that tall fence, curious about the bus in the driveway, and generally all-round envious.
They had a garage sale this weekend. The bus was also for sale. It may be sold by now, I may not be able to get the money, it may not run well enough for my purposes... (I need to make at least a 2000km trip and back again)
But, over the next months/years, however long it takes, I want to do this:
http://steampunkworkshop.com/bus1.shtml Because, much like the house, and the bus, when I saw this converted bus, I fell in love. It is an awesome piece of work, simply stunning. I don't really expect 'my' bus to come out so well, but I'll settle for close enough.
In short, I have the chance to make a lifelong dream come true, and all it will take is a lot of time and money. (Both of which are in fairly short supply...) All the pieces are falling into place, and if I don't do something now, I may never get it done.
Carpe diem, and all that fun stuff.
(Of course, it will mean I can't afford that overseas trip this year, but, I can do that any time.)
