requested update
Gary request I write a real update, but, all I have to say, he's probably already heard, but, just to have a non-survey update, I'll post it anyway.
Tomorrow, I have to take my husband to Huntsville again, to have a port put in his chest so they can administer IV antibiotics to him at home for the next 6 weeks. He'll be off work again, for that length of time, which is really a blessing, because he draws more money on workman's comp, due to the overtime he worked last year, than he can make working without overtime, plus, we won't have to make the van payments for those 6 weeks, that'll be 1 1/2 months worth the disability insurance will pay for. Oh, and I always thought that was such a waste of money, which, it actually has been up until this incident, LOL. And the van payment was due to come out of this week's check, and since we won't have to pay it, we'll be able to send his mom her money.
We try to send her $100 a month, which doesn't sound like much here, but goes a LOT farther down there. Although, she squanders it, knowing that's all she's getting, then has her daughter call Domingo to say that she's sick and needs money for medicine. They pulled that on him last week, and Domingo said, you know, if you are lying to me, you'll go to hell. LOL. She laughed at him and said she wasn't. Well, Domingo calls his brother-in-law, and has him check on the situation for him, and he tells him she just wanted some more money, so she made up the sick part. It's so frustrating, because it's really hard for us to come up with that $100 a month, and she's so ungrateful. This same sister called one time about a year ago, or so, and she tells Domingo this lady is staying with their mom, and that he needs to send so much extra money to pay that lady. Well, Domingo doesn't think that sounded like enough money for someone to stay with her around the clock, so he even sent more than they asked for, every month, for about 4 or 5 months. THEN, he finds out, from the brother-in-law, that the lady only stayed with his mom ONE NIGHT, and decided she wasn't going to do that!!!! But, you know, they aren't about to tell Domingo that she's not there, they'll just keep his money. Doesn't matter how much of a strain it puts on us up here, where everything costs so much more money. They seriously think money grows on trees up here :(.
Sometimes, I wish she'd go on a die, she's already like 90 something years old. I know that's awful of me, but she can cause a lot of tension around this house, for her to be so far away. I'm sure that's why the woman couldn't stay with her. One day, she calls and is crying to Domingo that she's never going to get to see him again, he'll never come down there again to see her. Well, Domingo told her, "If you'll accept Jesus into your heart, one day, we'll see each other again in heaven, but if you don't, then, no, we won't ever see each other again." I was really proud of him, that day. :) He's seriously worried about his mom though, he really does want to see her again, and we pray daily that someone will come to her and tell her the truth, before she does pass away.
