Surprise, Dean Winchester. It's your birthday.

It wasn't often that Jo got to take part in planning a big party, and while it was a group effort to make it happen, she was feeling particularly proud of how it was all coming together. The Roadhouse (2.0) was looking shinier than ever, decorated modestly yet awesomely, bar fully stocked, and there were already rows of shotglasses lined up along the bar ready to be filled. Dean deserved a big shindig for his birthday, and not only was she excited to host it, she was sure that it was just what a lot of their friends needed to take their mind off of the all the crap that was going on in the world.

If there was one thing the Harvelles knew how to do, it was hosting a party. And damnit, Jo was taking it upon herself to make this one the hugest party yet.

Sam sits on one of the barstools of the new Roadhouse, back to the bar and watching the door with a sense of mild apprehension. This had all seemed like such a good idea at the time, a surprise birthday party for his brother, but now that everyone was here and waiting for the birthday boy? He's starting to doubt his earlier enthusiasm. He knows his brother, and he knows this is going to go one of two ways. Dean's either going to be honestly touched, or he's going to get super-pissy and just sit at the bar all night with a face like thunder. He's starting to honestly think another night of diner burgers and bad TV would have been the more sensible option. Still, too late now.

Huffing out an anxious sigh, he keeps his attention trained on the door. He had rung Dean almost quarter of an hour ago, now, telling him he needed to his get his ass on over to the Roadhouse for a job, and knowing Dean's driving speed, he should be arriving any second.

It had taken three separate bouts of his ringtone emanating from his coat pocket for Castiel to work out how to answer his phone. When he had, he had been more than a little confused by the words of Dean's younger brother: apparently there was to be some form of surprise celebration for Dean that evening, to mark the day of his birth. Castiel struggled to see why Dean would want him involved, but Sam seemed rather insistent that he showed up. So the angel promised his compliance.

Having arrived far earlier than necessary, Castiel now stands alone against one of the walls of the Roadhouse, waiting for Dean Winchester to appear. Other than a smile from Sam on his arrival, little attention has been paid to him, and that suits him just fine. He is sure he will not stay long, after all. He'll just wish Dean a happy birthday, and then he will leave the humans to their celebrations. That seemed most prudent.

The jukebox was already going by the time she and a small group of the Slayerettes arrived. Sam had given her the heads up and they’d hauled ass to the Roadhouse. It wasn’t everyday that a hunter hit the ripe old age of thirty-one. It was something that definitely needed to be done up big and it looked like Jo hadn’t done a thing to disappoint in that regard. The place looked amazing and she could already see the shots lined up on the bar. It was going to be a good night whether Dean knew it or not. Who turned down free alcohol and gifts of every sundry and sordid variety? Fanning out the girls got themselves situated and Faith made her way over to Jo, and the bar to wait for the birthday boy.
