Puerto Rican Week ROCKS!!!
So most people i know celebrate the puerto rican parade, which is on a sunday, just for the weekend, whic is cool but my God-mother is awesome and celebrates it for a week. while i just jumped in for half of the week it has been a lot of fun. on friday I went to a political fundraiser. the fundraiser was to raise money to build hospitals in Vieques, P.R since the U.S has damaged it so much. So many people have these aweful diseases and there is not much the U.S is doing because they don' t want to take responsiblity for their actions. but anyway, I was great, there was poetry and music and it was so cool to see so many hispanics in one room coming together for such a great purpose. it sounds mad cheesey but i'm serious. the music was great. they were dancing bomba y plena which is like a great dance. they had live drummers playing the music and the idea is that you bow to the drum/drummer and the drummer obeys you. as you move the beat is made. it was so awesome that i can't really explain it. so that started at 7pm and lasted until like 1am. than today i woke up at like 1pm and went to the Puerto Rican festival that is pretty close to my house and they played madd music and sold much food. I got to see Daddy Yankee preform which was pretty exciting. He's a pretty man. I also saw a bunch of other people freform that i really don't know who they are but maybe one day i'll care for them. Tomorrow is the parade, unfortunately i'm not going to go and i've never been but i don't want to go alone so my God-mother is throwing a BBQ in the park. My God-brother has a baseball game or two so i'm gonna go to that. I think i'm bad luck for him, everytime he has a game that i go to he loses.
I think this was the week that i had the most fun. My God-mother saw how much i enjoyed the fundraiser so she is goin to invited me to some other stuff as they come up, who knows maybe one day i'll get arrested for a good cause. lol. j/k. even though that wouldn't be terrible.
I was thinking about how much i miss new paltz today. As much fun as I was having it is not the same. the music kept taking me back to the few times that I have gone out with the girls. Alex I kept thinking about your dancing and would stop laughing. probably got my God-mother bored with the stories from school but at the same time she like for me to tell them. says she likes hearing me talk about it how much fun i'm having.
Have to make plans to go to new paltz, its a must. I miss u girls. All of u girls. I just wished my cell phone worked in my God-mother house so I could call you. I think its the only place in Brooklyn that sprint does not work. I miss calls all the time because of it. But anyway my trip to new paltz, I want to go up to the waterfall. i want to just chill and relax and have a good time. so when i'm i going?
Last weekend I went to D.C and had an okay time. not to fun when u r watching a bunch of 13 year olds. my god-brother was driving me nuts but it was okay i had a decent time. Beats staying home doin nothin. my mom and me went out with my grandmother this week. Ir was nice because she hadn't been out the house in months so we walked to the 99 cent store and she got some house slippers. She went out in a bright yellow house gown and black leather heels and she was lookin pretty crazy but whatever when she bought her house slippers she put them yellow slippers with red flowers on in the store and was stylin, at least in her head. lol.
overall it has been a good week. I spoke to raeanne a couple of times this week and found out what she has been up to and it was as much as me, nothing but she did say she was goin to NP this weekend so shes probably out there havin fun. I think thats all i have to say.
i do have to call my dad at some point tomorrow. oh do you know who called me today? Adrian. I thought it was weird but it turns out he found out he had diabetes like 2 months ago and know he is in the hospital because he had a sore on his toe that got infected and so the had to chop it off. he now had 9 toes. crazy. real crazy. I didn't think that happened to diabetics until they were at least near their 40s and they didn't take care of themselves. he said it was his own fault because he didn't change his eatting habits after he found out he had diabetes and that had to do this it. Feel bad for the poor special, no very special wierdo. I think his birthday is tomorrow.
