I made this for a dear friend for her birthday and being a fellow crafter she asked me to post the pattern for it.
I want you (the reader) to keep 2 things in mind:
1) i am new to pattern writing so feel free to correct any errors you see here
2) I used lion brand fisherman's wool and dyed it with red and green kool-aid so it came out in those colors and i don't know how close you can get to that
With all that said here's the rest
CO 3 stitches and make an i-cord about 11" long
Row 1- slip 1 and knit across (SL1)
Row 2- SL1 and Purl across
Row 3 and every odd row for 24 rows- SL1 M1 knit to last stitch M1 K1
Row 4 and every even row for 24 rows- SL1 Purl across
now knit in stockinette stitch until the band measures 13" from where the top of the i-cord and band meet.
next row- K1 k2tog knit to last 3 stitches k2tog k1
next row- purl
Repeat these 2 rows until you have 3 stitches left
Make an i-cord with those stitches the same length as the i-cord on the other side
EXTRAS!
I used buttons from 3 differnt multi packs i bought at Joann fabrics and wooden beads from a multi bead pack to use on the tie ends
