And I want pants. A lot of people want a lot of things.

I really want to be up to date with my fics but that is not happening so I am going to try to at least to be up to date with other things.

Firstly, given she gave me a post, I need to formally thank the_girl_20 for letting me intrude on her Torn! Fic and allowing me to make it a whole lot darker than she had anticipated. I know this isn’t a whole post full of British gushing but I put you above talking about TV so that should give you some idea of your level of importance babe ;)

Community - It makes me so happy to be able to use that quote for my topic - I adore that moment and I could not love Annie (or Alison Brie) more if I tried! I heart this little show so much (and unlike some others shows I could name it hasn’t had a second season slump). I am having withdrawals already! I need a boxset stat.

The Amazing Race - I have to say that having a second win from an all female team did not excite anywhere near as much as the historic Nat/Kat win. I’m not sure if that’s because I didn’t ship the winners (and it would be a little disturbing if I did) or if the ‘all stars’ seasons always fall just a little bit flat for me. I will confess the season did have some good moments and that getting to see Kent (nee Kynt) act like a complete tool and threaten to harm people did amuse me. Note to Kent - I could sit on you and squash you like a bug, your threats just make you look like an idiot (especially when you then have to get your girlfriend to carry your backpack).

One Man Lord of the Rings - Charlie Ross, I don’t think this is quite as good as One Man Star Wars, but you are still fucking impressive and I love you! The Star Wars show works a little better because it’s shorter and more iconic (although it’s possible that I only think the latter because it’s part of my childhood and LotR isn’t) but you still did a very good job with this. I loved the hair stuff, I loved the multiple mentions of the neglected Sam and moth, I loved “My Froddo are we gay?”, I loved the fact that sometimes you looked freakishly like Hugo Weaving but mainly I loved “In the common tongue it means one for the money, two for the show.” Let’s face it I will go to any One Man show you decide to create.

Teenage Dreams Tour - Not so long ago I would have given you very strange looks if you’d suggested that I attend a Katy Perry concert but the times, they have apparently changed. In fact things have changed so much that I went to both concerts that she did here. On each occasion I was sick so poor Katy has no idea how fabulously I can sing and that’s sad for her. Although FFM’s wife and I did do some major jumping up and down so at least she had something to appreciate. She is rather gumby at dancing and I have to confess that I love just how much she embraces the running man. I’ve got no idea if she was lip synching or if the autotune was working overtime but it sounded awesome. I was rather surprised with that fact that she got so many people to get up on stage and gave so many kisses (“balls and kisses - what more could you want?”) but she really, really does know how to work a crowd. The slowed down, bluesy version of I Kissed a Girl was amazing - I think she should always sing the song like that! I adored the ‘darker’/high on brownie portion of the show (especially Circle the Drain and E.T.), the bondage like choreography for Who Am I Living For was really interesting and the multiple rapid costume changes in Hot N Cold were awesome (although the change as the confetti was dumped on her worked better the first time I saw the show than the second). I think my favourite moment was when she did the slide across the stage through the guys legs (that might be because it reminds me of Brita doing her slide in the Art of Warfare episode of Community) but the mentions of Kath and Kim and how if she could be anyone else she would be Ja’mie from Summer Hights High did make me very happy (that reminds me that I need to mention how much I am loving Angry Boys - I slap my el, slap my bow, slap my el, slap my bow!!!!!!). I truly enjoyed the concert but I’m sad that she removed The One That Got Away from the setlist for the Australian leg of the tour cause I freaking love that song.

Ok now I better go and work on some fic.

music, katy perry, tar, one man lord of the rings, community
