HEART OF WINTERRRRR...!!!!

...snow!

Real snow like we used to get when I was a kid in Yorkshire. For the first time in what I'm pretty sure is years. I was at band practice tonight and when we came out... oh, man. The air was like inhaling crystal razorblades and there was just a dusting of snow on the ground... and then as we were driving home it started coming down again properly...

When I got home, I had to go run out in it just for a few moments. I went up the road behind the house - we're on the very edge of the village, and once you're past the last streetlight it's straight into countryside and darkness in that direction - and stood on the little bridge over the old derelict railway, staring up in awe at the amazing sight of a crescent moon hanging in the southeast even as the snow was flickering down into my hair from the clouds coming in to the north. Real winter nights like this fire me up like nothing else - the cold lies on my skin like glitter and the wind gives me wings, and I feel like I could run and fight and soar forever. Like a creature of the winter that's born from the stormclouds and dies in the thaw... and I love it. Bring it on, Winter!

*grins wildly*

Band practice went really well, too. We have no fewer than four new songs being worked on, of which at least two are going to be absolutely glorious to play once my fingers learn them; and for some reason tonight, we played Never Again like we were fucking possessed and it was fantastic. I love that song so much. ^_^

Speaking of music - eviltwinemma, LOOK! Deathstars tour dates! Lots and lots of 'em! How many are we going to, then? *grin*

Oh, oh, and Night Electric Night is out, so I can pick up a copy tomorrow! Yes!

There is stuff going on at the moment that isn't so good, but on a night like this I refuse to let anything get to me. I'll just sit here listening to old Morbid demos and being happy, if it's all the same to you... ^_^

Night night,
Rath!

fire & forget, awesome, deathstars, i love the world, excitement, beautiful things, snow, music, morbid
