Ah, I was hoping you'd write something on this! :)
It was a fun gig, wasn't it? I don't think Paradise Lost were quite on form, but I still enjoyed seeing them play, and besides - if I'd paid that price just to get in and see Vreid, I'd have been perfectly happy. Vreid were outstanding. And as for Hváll singling you out - I was so glad he did that. Showed he'd been paying attention to his fans as much as they to him, which makes them a class act.
My only regret of the night was that you were left fending off Jeff Frottage, who needed a crash course in gig etiquette and personal space (credits on both courses transferrable between the two). Oh, and getting back from work and seeing you'd got stuck in York of course, but at least you'd managed to get going by the time I caught up to this fact. Sometimes I wish I had a Smartphone for curcumstances such as this...mine's the antismartphone. It deliberates about sending texts, even. Today I got a week's worth of Twitter DMs. And there was me thinking I'd got suddenly popular!
I'm genuinely looking forward to 1st June - it's going to be a great night. xx
Oh, yeah - I'm not saying I was disappointed in Paradise Lost in the least, bless 'em! I had a good time and that's all I ask. But as you say, yeah, I'd have paid the ticket price for Vreid's set alone. <3
And I'm looking forward to the gig too, though in a state of some terror as I'm having a violent bout of the "omg, what else can I do to promote this, nobody else has added themselves to it on facebook in weeks, English Heritage haven't got back to me, what have I not thought of, ARGH STRESS" right now. >.> Not sure what more to do except keep repeat-posting on FB and hope I get a lucky share or two!
Don't be in a state of terror! I'm giving out the rest of the flyers I had at the Cryptic Age album launch next Saturday, I'll repost/invite as many people as makes sense, and all shall be well.
